So I paid my money to play in a contest here. I do not understand how a losers bracket could possibly beat a winners bracket when there are only two prizes. Call me dense. But that is all irrelevant to the two winners I posted BEFORE not only those games started, but before any of the games started that night. So the rules about time of post are contradictory. Yes, I see where it says that "The deadline to post plays is 7:0059 EST. I also see where it says that "All plays must be in at least 5 minutes prior to earliest scheduled start time of your pick set." THESE TWO TIME RULES ARE CONFLICTING. Why am I being punished for complying with the second time rule? And even if you take away my two wins, why am I being graded with two pushes, thereby allowing me only 10 plays for the round?

The rules also say "Google time stamp will serve as time of post. Past posted plays within ten minutes of start time will be graded as "no action". Anything posted later than 10 minutes past start time will be graded as a loss."

The rule states nothing about posting past the deadline as you stated in post #85. The rule is for past posting. Past posting by every definition means posting after the games have begun or the game has begun. I did no such thing. I posted my plays before ANY games had started that night (including my plays).

If I can't get the wins I honestly handicapped and posted "at least 5 minutes prior to earliest scheduled start time of your pick set." I should at least get "no action" and get the chance to use my last two winning opportunities. Can't see how anyone who thinks this through would not agree with me.

theres 2 rules. All picks must be submitted 5 minutes prior to tip. The DEADLINE for picks is 7 o clock.

as far as the losers bracket goes. every contestant but one will be in the losers bracket at some point. so i dont know what your beef with that is.

I don't have a beef with the format of the Contest at all, NBC. It's just that my lack of understanding of said format seems to have leaked into the two push ruling as I was reprimanded for not understanding the format. I just spent my whole shower time trying to make sense of Double Elimination and I concluded that the "Loser's bracket" is somewhat of a misnomer. I guess technically no one has lost until they lose two sets. That's what I figured out but nowhere is that spelled out. I guess the "loser's bracket" threw me off.


Anyway, I have "no beef" with the format of the contest.

There are two issues here. I have tried hard to make my case but the fact that you would ask me that question, trytrytry, tells me that I have failed.

Please read post #107. I don't know how else to say it or quote the rule which is in conflict with the 7:0059 EST rule. Please click on the "RULES" headlined in black in Post #105. If you read the "Rules" you will see the conflicting rule re "all picks must be in by...". You need to read everything highlighted in red. Then you need to understand that I posted both my picks that night before any games started (the Google timestamp verifies that). Then you will see my point.

I'm just trying to get a fair shake like everyone else. Really not trying to be a pain in the ass.

I'll vote late. I'm pretty sure you guys can guess my vote. I've tried hard to state my case.

Is this really happening right now? Michelangelo posted his plays 55 minutes past the daily deadline. Now were giving him a opportunity to get wins out of the deal? C'mon JOH take some control of this contest, you wrote the rules man. It says right in the rules if you post any plays over 10 minutes past the deadline the plays count as a loss. You already messed up by allowing him to push those two games. When you have set lines like this it is a huge advantage to someone who waits to post plays, when everyone else is following the rules. For example what if Steph Curry would have been announced OUT during that Cavs/Warriors game after our 7:00EST deadline? Michelangelo would have been able to make his pick knowing this information and get great value picking the Cavs -3.5. I understand this was not the case, but this is why there is a daily deadline to make your plays that everyone must follow.

Also, why should any other members of the tournament have a say in how this is judged? Its not their match, they could side w/ Michelangelo for whatever BS reason if they so chose. This is between myself, Michelangelo and you JOH.

Michelangelo, you broke the rules. Don't bite off more than you can chew and ask to have these games counted as W's or NO ACTION.

I'm already pretty disappointed by how this ruling has been handled by not counting the two plays as losses. If more action is made to benefit Michelangelo and it cost me this rounds match I'll be expecting my entry fee returned.

it doesnt say anything about posting past the DEADLINE dabble. its a 100$ contest stop being such a prick about it. he posted past the deadline so the picks dont count. he did not post 10 minutes past the start of the game. just give him no action and move on. stop trying to win on bullshit or dont enter contests with your lunch money.
