What's with the Ravens -13.5 over the Browns?! No one has it over -10! How could the SuperBook be so far off on that one? Are they anticipating Hoyer getting scratched and the line getting up to -13.5. Not good to be so off on a line in the Final Week of the contest.
Seahawks only -11.5 in the Contest and -13 most places, but that's not as bad as the Ravens bad line.

I don't think that many people stop before they enter this contest and think about the deadline before plunking down their $150. I didn't.
And by your logic, if it did limit the number of entries, and RX wanted to maximize entries and traffic, and they didn't care about entrants tailing or copying picks, then they could make the deadline Noon on Sunday!
Carib had a contest where the lines were not static. They updated the lines! So you had to decide whether to grab a line before it changed! But then you had to make all of your picks at that time just to grab one good line. That was no fun.
Other contests have software that lets you update your picks as many times as you want. It's all automatic, so no problem. No one would miss or forget a deadline that way. You just put something in early and you can always change it.
Just some thoughts for possible improvements.

Sheeyet. "Great Job", even with the great capitalized is a MASSIVE understatement. This is the best run contest of its type with just the organization of relevant links all in one place let alone the performance over past weeks breakdown, ridiculous. Nothing even comes close. Like all the rest are bagels and this is a Bugatti.

You have less constraints on your time than others. There is an Old Black man in Cleveland who can't afford to enter LVH and thinks you have to live in Vegas anyways to do it. He's got 11 kids and a wife that looks like Nell Carter. He plays the football pool (ATS) at his 2nd job at Dave's Supermarket and wins about 3 times a season. The only way his wife will let him enter this contest is if he doesn't wake her up playing in it and if he takes an additional part time job to pay the entry fee. He's got a real small (and moving) window for lookin' at NFL.com stats to make his secret formula to decide his plays.
Look into what traffic is at LVH website on Saturday when the picks are released. Say between Noon and 7. Pacific Time. You can probably find it on Alexa or whatever.
If traffic still matters to websites "eliminate people's ability to click onto the website to see what entrant's selections are" would be the equivalent of Santa Claus giving away the door of his Sled. Of The Snowman entering a Spicy Chicken Wing eating contest. Of Rudolph drawing an Anarchy symbol with a big fat black Sharpie his Nose. Of Rex Grossman saying "no" to $56,422 to QB the Browns for this last game against the Ravens.
OK...maybe not as outlandish as that last one but it would be "inexplicably foolish".
It is a Ravens team that has to win though, a very disgraced Ravens Defense....mad, upset....angry.
Someone check to see if Rex's family is really in town lol. And verify he has a valid Kite-Surfing reservation. Those might just be excuses to avoid The Ravens Defense.
Yeah, eventually the "True Handicapping Contest" will sweep the land, exist everywhere even with this contest maybe....
....but the unnecessary give-away of Website Traffic that elimination of entrant's selection page brings will cause them to turn back.
Trial and error. If JOH and RX didn't have such a competent platform here I'd be here asking to go back to the old days of players posting up their plays in threads lmfao.

This contest is meant to mirror the Hilton not be its own entity. Those looking for changes should take it up with the lvh and not joh. I've been in this since its inception and it gets bigger every year someone must be doing something right. Thanks joh and am looking forward to next season
This is correct, when Myself and JOH started this a few years ago, it was meant to duplicate the Real LVH ( Hilton Super Contest ) at a 10% rate. LVH is $1500, The RX one is $150
I wanted to give the chance to RX Posters who either couldn't afford the Real LVH, for whatever reason a chance to make some money without the hassle in the real Contest.
with NO strings Attached. ( meaning No Sponsors, Rollovers, etc ) a Fun Contest for All to enjoy !
Now we have fighting because Maybe..... Maybe ...someone is copying a Real LVH entry who has been Hot all year and leads the Real Contest.
and there's NO real against it, even if they are...
I think the Only mistake we made was to move the Deadline up to 8:00PM Eastern ( past 2 years it was 5pm )
and this has Nothing to do what's going on now, with people saying RX posters are copying... Because In the past, the LVH Picks were Never Released this early.
Guess they have a person or persons working just on the Contests. because I remember waiting some times until 9pm+ eastern for them to post it on their web site.
anyway, Next year we probably will go back to 5pm at least.... and I will talk to JOH during the Off season and see what changes, if any are needed.
and Yes, this Contest has gotten bigger and better each year.
also remember, JOH does the grading on these 2 Contests on his Own Time. Nothing to do with the RX, except it being run here.

For this contest shouldn't matter when the picks are released, right? Set the deadline to whatever... if I'm around I'll open it up. Many Fridays (CFB) and Saturdays I alter plans just to be in front on the computer to make one click of the mouse @ 8pm. Can't do it on an Ipad or I'd have it with me.
