Ok guys I may be interested in this thing after all. I have a few questions:

1.) Why do we have to make at least 20 selections between march 26th and April 12th?

2.) Why is the contest not run on Mondays?

3.) I understand the risk on plus money plays and the to win on minus juice plays but are we playing each selection for one unit only everytime?

4.) so the rank is judged by how many units are won or how many games or how does that work?

5.) Are bets actually physically made on our betjam account every pick or are they just posted and kept track of and the $300 kept in a separate pot without bets literally being made with the money?

6.) Has the amount of people who will be getting paid out based on rank at the end of the contest been determined or not yet?

This are the question I have for now and may come up with a few more should I think of any. However I most likely will be playing in this contest. Pretty expensive but love the NHL and think it will be great fun. Thanks in advance!

1.) Why do we have to make at least 20 selections between march 26th and April 12th?

this rule is in place to avoid anyone getting a big lead and then simply sitting on the lead and not playing.

2.) Why is the contest not run on Mondays?

the graders need a break, and there are usually few games on monday.

3.) I understand the risk on plus money plays and the to win on minus juice plays but are we playing each selection for one unit only everytime?

all plays are only 1 unit each "risking" one unit when taking +VIG and "to win" one unit when taking -VIG.

4.) so the rank is judged by how many units are won or how many games or how does that work?

winner is determined by how manu units won at end of year. How many games is not really relevent in a sport like NHL, what is important is the amount of units.

5.) Are bets actually physically made on our betjam account every pick or are they just posted and kept track of and the $300 kept in a separate pot without bets literally being made with the money?

there will be a thread every day to post picks. the money is held at betjamaica in holding accoutn.

6.) Has the amount of people who will be getting paid out based on rank at the end of the contest been determined or not yet?

this will only be determined once we know how many people are in

Thanks for the info SportsSavant...

So the bets ARE NOT physically made on the betjam site at all for that matter just posted and kept track of on here? Aslo you say that they are throwing in a 20% added amount on top of all the entry fees but has to be rolled over 1X? How is it rolled over if the bets arent physically made there?? Thanks again!

Your contest selections are "mythical" and apply only to the +/- of your Contest Bank.

You are of course free to place wagers on same events/sides/totals at Betjam if you wish, but you must use money other than the $300 which has been set aside in the Tournament Pool (with an added 20% from Betjam)

The "rollover" of 1x would apply to the 20% portion of the money paid to contest winners in April. How many and how much is paid per Place will be determined after the contest entries are closed.

Last season we had 15 contestants and paid first three places.

I seem to recall it was a 60/30/10, but Savant can verify precisely.

EXAMPLE:

if we get 10 people, the prize money is $3000 + $600 added bonus from betjamaica.

lets say we decide to do winner take all, you will get $3600 in your betjamaica account, you must roll over the $600 1X, but you can withdraw the $3000 right away.

Any chance for a $300 basketball contest? Basketball is usually my best sport. It has been extremely easy thus far this season

I know a bunch of members from the hockey forum are Canadian. Does this mean the $300 is in US or Canadian funds? I am really thinking about entering here as it should be lots of fun. Lets get the top two guys paid something like 75%/25% and I am most likely in.
