Keeping it as is is fine too. Rather have you stay in the league. But for discussion purposes why do you like Kickers and Defenses?
You mention no strategy in waiver claims but I see 0 strategy in K and virtually 0 in Defense (as Def TD is 99.9% random) hence they are picked in the last 2 rounds i.e. no one cares as ranking 1-10 really tight (with a usual outlier that is random).
Defenses and kickers can and do carry teams to victories. Just like any position, and fantasy will always be about timing and matchups
Since defenses and kickers have been around since the inception, I'm going to argue they are an integral part of the game
Furthermore, eliminating them brings about other questions. Do you reduce roster sizes? Otherwise players to pickup diminishes significantly.
I've been a commissioner of one fantasy football league since advent of computerized fantasy leagues. We've not changed one rule in over 20 years, we still don't even have a flex. 8 of the 12 teams are still original teams. Two original members passed, two I replaced. We just don't have any turnover. Everybody knows they have to pick two keepers by the week before opening day and the draft is Tuesday, two days before opening day, at 8:15 PM EST. That's how I do things. Old school, easy peasy
This league is seemingly changing every year, and I absolutely hate the free agent process but tolerate it. Like I've said, I have no desire to hold you guys back, I really don't. Replace me and you guys can go full bore contemporary league, I won't be offended
