9/6 isn’t the best for me I have another draft that day but if I get outvoted than that’s fine and I’ll multi task both.

Okay, now that we have the 12 can we move on to any rule/player changes, payment and draft order? Little more then a week away from drafting and the only things certain is we have 12 and a draft date.

Should we discuss here?

1. Payment - how does it usually work? One person in the group collects and holds? Whoever that person is, we send to them prior to draft date. No exceptions. I would volunteer to collect/hold if needed.
2. Draft Order - Again, how has it been done? My opinion is one of two ways - randomly generated by the website if possible, or some function of last year finish - if you want parody in a league that has generally the same players, the last place player gets first pick. If you want to reward someone, then winner either gets 1st pick or choice of draft pick spot. I would vote that last year Super Bowl winner gets first pick, runner up second, etc. New players go to the end.
3. Rule changes - I haven't seen in a league in over 10 years that hasn't had some sort of PPR. That said, it is an interesting nuance that would probably work in normal year. But who knows about this year. You could have 1/2 PPR - since Yahoo will allow customization, you can count each reception for 1/2 a point, with each 10 rushing yards counting for a point and each 20 receiving yard counting for a point. Every 25 passing yard for a point. I like PPR leagues so I vote for what I just suggested.

Hey heatwave -
willie and I have split the treasurer duties.
$500 due pre draft. We usually just split in half.

draft we have done yahoo generated. But pre draft after money collected. Not the 45 min before. Let’s people have a chance to prep/mock

i am all for ppr. Even if just 0.5 pt. Just would need full agreement from league.
I took over commish after league was started already so we just kept the original settings that original commish kept.
I can try and toss together a surveymonkey or something. Just been swamped w work sadly which is why I had asked a few weeks ago if anyone wanted to help but we didn’t have our 12 yet.

1. Willie will communicate payment...two people hold it 50/50 split and yes prior to draft.
2. Draft order is done by commish and believe verified by random order generator.
3. Settings listed below. Suggestions that have been offered: additional roster spots and adding PPR of some sort. I am for the PPR as it would offset any complications that could come up over the season without losing alot of fantasy points. I too am in favor of additional roster spots....whether it be 2 or 3.

I believe it is 1.5 minutes. But we also can discuss this as well if need be....I too have another draft during the same time. Maybe when can up it to 2 or 3 minutes. IDK

I'm OK with going to two minutes per pick to settle on a draft date

Dude, can the commissioner pause the draft on Yahoo? I know I can pause the draft on CBS

Any rules you guys use i'll be fine with, since i am the new guy.

But a little thing we might think about is like in one of my other leagues we could do a little side pool, what we do is in your head to head matchup if your team loses it costs you $20 and whatever team is the high score for the weeks gets that pot.

Plus we have a seed pay in it, because of the way we pay it. so in my other league its 10 teams but which at $20 is $100 but if you are high score you get $180 due to the way we do the seed money for the pool.

That is actually the league draft i'm doing on Tuesday the 1st, and by saying old school, i mean it is score only, they have been running this league for 30+ years. I've been in it for 15 i believe now.

Just a thought

Thanks

I officially set the draft date as Sunday, September 6, 9:00 EST

I changed the pick timing to 2 minutes (which is the most Yahoo allows BTW)

Money is now due ASAP, so TheDude can set the draft order. Order will not be set until everyone is paid

Paying Willie99

NBACapper
Underdobs
J Brady
+ 1 (I'll let thedude decide)

The three I listed have to pay me for multiple contests

Willie,

I believe I also owe you for multiple things as well (RX contests). Not sure if you want to co-mingle funds. Just throwin it out there.

2 minutes works for me. I would be open for more, cause I can't imagine doing two drafts at once.

Everyone chime in on everything listed

1) Should we expand the roster by 2 players for Covid protection? I don't think we should expand by too many, leave some players available

2) If they play less than 8 games, everyone gets a full refund? If every team plays at least 8 games, we award prize money based on standings. Record 1st and points scored the tie breaker

3) If there's a very late scratch and it's too late to replace a player. How do we fix that problem?
Do we ignore it? just part of the breaks we all know exist (may be the best option so as not to get twisted)
Do we allow the player to substitute the lowest scoring bench player from the same position? WR for WR, TE for TE
Do we use points scored by that player the next time he plays? Which won't work for the playoffs

I'm suggesting that if a player gets scratched, we do nothing. It's not fair for that week, but we're all in the same boat and taking the same risk and that's what happens when there's a late scratch due to injury in any other year. I think we all need to watch lineups right up to the last minute

So to conclude, I'm suggesting only three COVID changes
1) expand rosters by 2 for this year
2) minimum games played requirement, I'm suggesting 8
3) If there's a late scratch, that's just bad luck and we're all rolling the dice

Add Heatwave to paying me, so that's

Everyone else pays thedude

Two minutes is the max Yahoo allows, but the commissioners will have pause power (at least three times according to thedude) So if we see you or Underdobs down to 2 seconds, we can pause for up to a minute, then resume. But we may not be able to do that more than 3 times. We'll resolve that before draft night

1. Agree on 2 extra spots
2. Fine with that. Also fine if we extend that out, but 8 sounds reasonable. What is the prize breakdown anyway?
3. I am OK with it is what it is on late scratches. Don't most teams have to report their guys that are out by an hour before? I don't think late (like 5 min before kickoff) will even apply here, because if you have COVID, you will probably know day before game, or at latest at same time when the guy with pulled hammy is designated out for that game.
