i hate the waiver system we have in place as well. Bidding is the only way it's done now a days. Because these players aren't actually on waivers they are free agents. And free agents go to the team offering the most money. Waivers is a word for recently dropped players.

funny, leagues have been operating for decades using the waiver process as is

to me, it's just people looking for a chance to jump in line

it accomplishes nothing else, it just changes who has an advantage and why

I don't know of a single league that uses a bidding system, not one, and I'm no fantasy novice and I've participated in many serious money leagues over the years

I don't understand why you say it's an advantage of one over another in the bidding process. We voted on it starting on July 31 and the vote was at 5-1 in favor of bidding.

Leagues probably haven't changed from the waiver process because they just haven't done it yet, but ultimately, most competitive/money leagues will eventually evolve to a bids for free agent, IMO. I have to agree, bidding is much more fair and adds another element of strategy.

because the waiver process usually starts in reverse order of the draft, so that advantage for teams that draft late which is there for a good purpose has been taken away

after you use a waiver pick, you go to the bottom, there's already some incentive to use your picks wisely

to me, it's just a gimmick, nothing more and nothing less.

I don't see it as some "brainy" thing, it's just a "different" thing which is used in a minority (not majority) of leagues

I am fine w/ either waiver process. But yes, most "competitive leagues" use FAAB - NFFC being prime example.
It is the same argument on Auction vs Snake draft.
FAAB gives everyone equal shot at getting any free agent.
If starting RB goes down in week 4, you shouldn't be punished b/c you picked someone up in week 2 or 3 and are toward the bottom of the list.

I am fine w/ regular continual rolling list waivers - but mainly because we are "used to it" because that used to be what was done.

my final say on the matter, most leagues use the traditional waiver process

that in and by itself doesn't make it right, but that's the standard setting

when you lose a running back, the new system may help you or it may hurt you. It all depends on many other variables. The only thing it is is different. What week? did you spend your money already? how much money do others have?

In reality, there's really nothing you can control except to save money so you know you can win bids late in the season. With the traditional system, you can avoid using waivers and retain your (higher) waiver position which you're entitled too because you either drafted late and / or you didn't make waiver pickups. You have no such control in a constant bidding process.

Injuries suck, in life and in fantasy. Changing the waiver process won't change that.

I've beaten this topic long enough, I'm moving on

I'm used to the old way but willing to give the new way a try. haven't done it before so I can't judge what I like. I'm sure I'll be at a disadvantage having never done it but I'll survive

Chop & Willie....im willing to trade back from #4
..

I like my spot. There are at least 6 guys I'd love to get and then I get to pick earlier coming back down

so the 4 doesn't do anything for me

We voted and decided on the FAAB rules. People sent their money based on an understanding of this rule. Keep it.

I have until 8:30 pm est to begin preparations

Although I helped Huskygirl draft her first team this week, so that will help. I do expect y'all to be much tougher than my daughter's friends. She's in the money already

I had my yearly draft in my friend local league last night .

I wish that one was the 500 and this one was the 50.

Russel Wilson 2nd round.
Drew Brees 3rd pick.

My first 3 pics was AP, Megatron, and AJ Green
