There now have been 20 golf majors in a row that Tiger Woods hasn't won.

nobody discusses golf unless tiger is playing and is competitve, which is why i refer to golf as the tiger woods pga tour. ratings will be horrendous for the masters. nobody is going to go out of there way to watch phil mickelson or rory.

But he hasn't been the best golfer since 08..He's still the favorite in majors. What does that tell you besides the amount of foolish gamblers ?

Why? Just because he hasn't won a major in that time? Are you basing your statement solely on that? Since 2009, there have been 18 different major winners in 20 events(Rory and Phil being the only double winners). You show me one player since 2009, who has performed better than Tiger. In those 5 years, Tiger has played in 71 tournaments, winning 14(almost 20% win rate) and finishing in top 10 35 times(nearly 50%). And keep in mind the tournaments Tiger plays in are usually the top tournaments with the best players. Name one player in last 5 years with those accomplishments or anyone even close for that matter.

I am am a golf fan, not a Tiger fan, but bottom line is whenever Tiger tees it up in a tournament, he IS the guy to beat and I guarantee you the guys on tour will say the same thing. The only ones who don't believe that are the Tiger haters.

Can you actually believe that in last 5 years Tiger has as many wins(14) as both Rory(6) and Phil(8) combined! Imagine being washed up and done with and still have as many wins as both of those 2 guys combined? It's amazing how some people don't get how good this guy really is. Even playing bad, he is still far better than 95% on tour.

I still think it's all about the depth of the tour now. Even Jack said way back in 1996 that there would have been three times as many players that could have beat him if he wasn't playing his best. And of course the level of competition has grown in leaps and bounds since 1996. He also said that it makes it a lot easier to finish in the top two or three when there are only 30 guys you'd need to worry about, even if you weren't playing your best. Those are words that came from Nicklaus biography. With Tiger these days, even if he is playing well and at the top of his game, you know that from a very deep field of world class golfers there are going to be one or two of them that are going to have a career week where everything goes right. That's the kind of obstacle Tiger has to overcome when or if he ever becomes healthy again.

I don't want to argue, especially about your interpretation of what Jack said. But here is what I believe.

I believe there are hardly any players today who challenge other top plays with the competitiveness of a Tom Watson, a Lee Trevino, or just a very few others. Players today have grown up in a world where they get rich beyond their wildest dreams without even needing to win a tournament.

No way to prove it, but I believe Tiger would have had trouble (during his hot streaks) pushing around players like the two I mentioned. Jack was intimidating to his peers, but guys did not just lay down and quit like they often did on Sunday for Tiger at his Majors.

Tiger has the game to win at Bayhill etc. But to many flaws the last 6 years to win a major. That's why he is not the best player anymore then Luke Donald was when he was #1...Nobody on tour thinks Tiger is the guy to beat..despite your guarantee

Then tell me who has been better? Who had more than 14 wins over last 5 years? Who else has finished in top 10 in 50% of the tournaments they have played in? Again , just because he hasn't won a major doesn't mean he still isn't the best player out there.

If I have to pick the winner of a major, I'll take 15 different players before I take Tiger...To be the best player, You have to be a factor in majors...Not a guy that shoots +72 on Sundays.. We have different interpetations of best player.

The difference is I can tell you who I think the best player is and give you reasons and stats to back it up. All you keep telling me is Tiger is not the best. So who is better and why? Show me the player and his stats that show he has been a better player than a Tiger over the last 5 years. I didn't ask you to pick the winner of a major, I asked who has been a better player than Tiger over last 5 years? You are avoiding the question because you can't name a single player and back it up with any kind of stats that shows they have played better than Tiger over last 5 years.

Also, in the last 5 years Tiger has played in 18 majors and finished in top five 6 times and top ten 9 times. I would say that's being a factor.

In the last 6 years Tiger has not been a threat to win a major...Personally, I don't think we have a best player recently. But if I had to pick that player, I would take Adam Scott..

Tiger did not win a tournament , what for 2 1/2 years and fell out of the top 50 rankings for a while during 10-11.. How can anyone say he was the best player during the last 5 years ? Tiger was the best player in the world from 2000-08.. no doubt slam dunk.. But since then, its been a revolving door, with no real #1.. Luke Donald was #1, but did anyone really think he was the best player in the world ? Rory eventually will get back to #1 and most likely stay there for quite some time.. I personally think Adam Scott is the best player , but at this time its all subjective... Tiger even when healthy has way to many flaws in his game that now get exposed in premiere events to be considered the best player in the world...

Luke doesn't win majors
Rory can't get to number one unless he starts winning...how many tournaments has he won in the last two years?
Adam Scott putts horrible with his bellyputter....what's he going to do when he has to give it up?

Amazing your hate towards Tiger...Tiger will win another Major after age 38....Hogan and Nicklaus did....

Do we have proof that Hogan or Jack were banging every whore they could get their hands on? Might be an advantage over years not to be out porking like crazy. Tiger has been overrated his whole career. Not based on the half-butts he could intimidate on the course..... but compared to the legends everyone was so addicted to comparing him to.

His health is just a common reaction to his stuffing his body with roids and chasing skirt too much.

He wins the Masters if his ball didn't hit the flag on the par five....but that is just some bad luck which is part of the game.....

Lol, so you are saying a guy who has won just 4 tournaments in the last 5 years is the best player in the world? Wow, you ARE a serious Tiger hater.
