There now have been 20 golf majors in a row that Tiger Woods hasn't won.

Ask the players themselves and Tiger's name comes up more than you can imagine....

That's because they are all conditioned to lick his sack just like the tour does. Even though he has BROUGHT GREAT DISGRACE TO THE PGA TOUR, they still feature his face prominently on all their ads.
Players have the mindset that they will be labeled as racist is they are the least bit critical. (Similar to politics at this time) Does not matter what color he is. He is a major disgrace, pure and simple.

in a private conversation his name would come up more for a lot of reasons

nobody comes to mind as the best player the last 5 years
Red, I love you brother, but you need to stop arguing the point of who the best golfer has been the last 5 years. It has been Tiger. The numbers don't lie when it comes to golf. You need to stick to the same argument I have. And that is if Tiger will ever win another major. It's still no small feat what Tiger did last year in winning 5 tournaments. ALL of these PGA tournaments are mutha fukas to win, I don't care how minor they are. Just ask world class golfer Matt Kuchar how hard it is to close out a golf tournament.

Which was why I was inquiring. I have no problem with Reds opinion of Tiger, but wondering who he thought was ahead of Tiger.

Funny you speak of Kuch....I had him in mind when I asked Red the question. Probably the most consistent player over the past 5 years, but just can't seem to win.

It's not only Kuch, it's everybody. Rory should have won two out of the last three tournaments he's played in. He had the lead but couldn't close out either of them. And what is he, something like #2 or #3 in the world? All of these tournaments nowadays are very tough to win. I don't care if they're WGC or regular events.

But on the other hand he made the PGA tour what it is today. So, yes I agree with you he fucked up, but come on without him these guys aren't making the money they do.

I agree Pats. I personally don't care for Tiger, but I have to give him credit where credit deserves. I think he has a very legit argument as the best athlete of our lifetime. Before everybody jumps all over me for that statement, just keep in mind that Tiger was the first athlete to reach a billion dollars in earnings while playing in a relatively unpopular sport with limited television coverage. That's quite a feat when you really think about it. What other athlete could have done that other than maybe Michael Jordan, who played in a much more popular television friendly sport.

Kuchar is overrated.. Not a clutch player at all...There is no best player the last 5 years.. Certainly not a player that was winless for half that time and shoots over par rounds on major weekends

Lol, so you can not come up with a player who has been the best the past 5 years, but a guy who has won 14 tournaments in that time(more than anyone else, next closest being 8 wins) and has finished in the top 10 in 50% of tournaments in that time definitely is not? Wow, every time you post on here you show your hatred for Tiger more and more.

Keep drinking the kool aid.. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is ? Once Tiger can compete again, You have Tiger, I'll take either Phil, Rory, Day, Scott, Spieth, Dufner to win a major first.. You can even select which player I have .... Put up or stop posting on this subject... You have the best player ? what else could you ask for ?

I respect you more then just about anyone on this forum,,, But can't quite get on board with you here. Matty is not world class IMO.... Best golfer in the last 5 years can't be exposed like Tiger does in the majors..

Kuchar is about as consistent as they come. He just can't win a big one. Just shows how dominate Tiger really was in his prime. I tend to agree with GS on Tiger and his body breaking down due to some sort of growth hormone use.

As an avid golf fan......I really hope that this Jordan Spieth becomes a special player.

The debate is not about who will win a major, it's about who the best player has been the last 5 years. Winning a major does not mean you are the best player, just the best that particular weekend. The fact there have been 18 different major winners over the last 20 majors is proof of that. It's obvious I am not the only who thinks Tiger has been the best the last 5 years so don't tell me to stop posting on the subject when my posts have had more weight than yours. As I said earlier, your hatred for Tiger is the only obvious thing here with you. You can't name a best player but you can emphatically say that it isn't Tiger despite the fact his stats prove he has been. Just keep on hating, it's what you do best.

seems to me its the perfect pro-Tiger bet.. Not sure what your scared of with what your posting here.. Can't name another player because no obvious one comes to mind...2010 -2012 Tiger sure was not the best player, 2014 will be another down year so to me that doesn't add up to 5 years.. I'll give you last year, but not the last 5 years.. NO ONE COMES TO MIND

I'm done debating this subject... If a pro-Tiger poster wants to get down on a bet that I have proposed, lets go.. other then that we can agree to disagree on how good Tiger is...

Tiger has made the PGA what it is today...purses are greater as well as all the free golf equipment and amenities offered to the pro athletes....all the other tours can also kiss Tiger's ass if they want.....every damn time a pro golfer cashes a check, he or she can thank Tiger Woods.....

You're about 25% right...Everytime a pro golfer cashes a check, he should thank his lucky stars for Arnold Palmer

VD is right. Mickelson was talking in a presser today about how much Tiger has changed the game. Phil said he won just $170,000 for first place in his first win 17 years ago. But after Tiger came in it changed the entire golfing landscape. We're talking about purses going from $170,000 to one million first place in just 10 short years. Arnie never changed the game like that. And he never produced the media frenzy and coverage that Tiger has. Along with endorsements and commercial contracts. Which has trickled down to the rest of the tour.
