i understand but when your playing in a $55 rebuy (or a 3/5/10 in my case) the 1st hour can turn into K10 vs JQ preflop all in...ive seen hands with 4/5people all in preflop..and YES that 1 guy who wins vs 4others will be off n running but then what does he do the last 45minutes of play? play tight?...continue to go for it with MARGINAL hands and risk getting chopped down?..and the people that lose the hand rebuy and now they are that much further behind the big stacks....ive never understood the way to attack these types of tourneys...it seems to me like a crapshoot in the 1st hour just trying to win as many coinflips as possible...

maybe a better question is to ask after that 1st hour of rebuys...do you A) add on and if so where do you like to be sitting chip count wise after that 1st hour?

like i said when i used to play Party MTT ideally id like to be sitting with 2K in chips or even better 3K and average stack or better position....

you should always add on at the end of the rebuy period. you should rebuy right away at the start as well. I just open shove during the rebuy period with TT+, AQ+ in the 55rs and 109rs, in teh 11rs and 22rs I open shove any pair AJ and up pretty much, in the $3r I open shove any 2 lol

I like to have 10k in the 55rs and 109rs at break and 22r, and then in 11r closer to 20k

have you ever just called it quits in a rebuy after maybe rebuyin 3or4 times and losing each pot? Knowing full well you are WELL behind the average/big stacks...like i mentioned in a previous post, DN rebought once like 21X (it was 1K WSOP event) to the point where the guy covering the tourney in his blog said in order for him to BE he had to make the FINAL TABLE (which he did)...

i still think they are a total crapshoot the 1st hour and to me they just arent enjoyable (to each his own and you obviously do quite well at them bc i noticed how many you play a day)...i would imagine the swings in these are far greater than regular MTT's....

i appreciate the replies....

the swings for me in rebuys are actually lower cuz I have a higher ROI in them because of all the chips in play, you get more play later in the tourney. THe only tourney I would call it quits in is the $109r, anything else I would never quit. I don't want to get more than $709 in a $109r and rarily get more than $509 in one.

I'd say you would want to start out playing $3rebuys, $10 freezeouts, maybe the $20 180 man sit n goes. $1500 bankroll should be fine for that

Bowling or Golf?

Jordan or Wilt?

Yankees or rest of MLB ?

Doyle or Daniel?

Why is the Ace of Spades considered the most beautiful card in the deck?

How many wives has Norman Chad had?

golf, I play 50 rounds a year or so. I'm a 12 handicap.

I loved Jordan as a kid, fav player

I hate the yankees with a passion. rest of MLB for sure, I'm a reds fan

Not sure, but I like red aces better.

at least 4 I think, unlike some people I actually like Norman's wisecracks about wives and women in general

over 90% online in terms of hours played for sure. I would prefer to play against live competition online LOL. Live players are for the most part terrible compared to their online counterparts.

For example an online 20/40 game is going to 10x more difficult than a live 20/40 game which will play like a 2/4 online game.

Live tourneys are so weak, like laughable weak in many cases. In the last tourney I played where I got 2nd, when the field was down to 18, I would say maybe 1 other player knew proper tourney strategy for how big the blinds were.

I'm out for the night, just busted my last tourney of the night in 15th, sucked bad, lost a huge flip for 2nd place stack. I'm heading down to Caesars to play a $340 tomorrow in the Midwestern Regional Championships so I won't be around during the day, I'm hoping for another final table as that would rank me 1st on CardPlayer final tables on the year, my 3 so far this year rank me 3rd. I was I was that high in actual points lol. but leave any questions and I'll answer them when I'm back, hopefully with some hardware.
