50-70K???? LMFAO ..Unless you are an engineer, doctor, or lawyer...you're not gonna make 50-70 right out of college.
I know I/T professionals that got more than that out of college that specialized in AI, computer security, etc. etc. etc.

Anyone who makes a blanket statement that a college degree is useless is talking out of their ass. It all depends on what you're looking to do.

I'm in finance and have been since I graduated 21 years ago. Right now, i'm Corporate Controller for a medium sized public company and would not have been able to get to where I am without a degree, simply for the reason that you cannot even get an interview without it.

My wife has a degree in Occupational Therapy and makes $72 per half hour doing home care.

So her GPA was 2.7?

"As Thompson sees it, any reasonable employer would pounce on an applicant with her academic credentials, which include a 2.7 grade-point average and a solid attendance record. But Monroe's career-services department has put forth insufficient effort to help her secure employment, she claims."

we all need money. college is a stepping stone. you can go to college, learn a trait and then work in that field and that job.

some people do waste their time and money in college it just depends on what you go for

i have bounced around in the medical field for the a while now and that is one profession that we can all be pleased there is a college education for.

Even though I ended up a professional gambler, I wouldn't trade my college experience(5 years) and degree from OU for anything. I was very fortunate that I went to school on an athletic scholarship. To each their own.

without my BA i wouldn't have been able to get my JD. definitely not a waste in my opinion unless your major was "english" or "liberal arts" then you get what you paid for and deserve. Even if you have a shitty major if you go to grad school and get a Masters or to law school and get a JD you are still going to be sitting pretty. The only problem is if you have a completely useless Bachelors without an advanced degree.

Absolutely. People don't understand that in some fields you need more than your Bachelor's.

The best bargain in college today is nursing.

My girlfriend will have spent a total of just over 3 years in college & will have her RN (Registered Nurse) and making $40+ per hour.......

Nursing is a great career choice. Very good pay for the amount of schooling you need. You'll be in high demand and a good jump off point if you want to do something else in the medical field.

I think the most important thing to do before furthering your education is to thoroughly research the program you want to go into. Will it translate into a secure career? These dummies that attain worthless degrees get no sympathy from me.
