Dunno what's going on at Bet DSI poker network, but they're starting new freerolls every 4 minutes, I'm playing about 12 right now...

The way you play and the way you understand the game makes it really hard not to "pop" you... is not like it is a massive achievement, and please dont feel discouraged, we want you to keep playing

No I didn't play this week, I was working... when I play you'll know cause you wont get near the top 3

my guess is that you will never play in the freeroll because you have played in over 100k hands or 1 million whatever it is and you come out ok. You understand odds and outs, you understand value of the pot.

oh boy i am never going to see top 3 if my life depended on it. Oh god, i better watch out for pocketrockets. He's going to be the next freeroll poker champion! he wants to steal the title away from harry caray! how many times have you won harry caray, you know i respect you and your game but i think we might soon have a new big man on campus!

lol me too, i'm playing in cheap measly freerolls because i'm scared of playing in the real game for 30 bux right now, i'm only thinking about it barely just now. No i'm kidding, i'm not scared, i'm not afraid of death, i'm not scared of playing against dusty schmidt or assasinato if i win i win, if i lose, i lose. You know what they say, only bet with money you can afford to lose because in the end, it's only gambling.

Already won it a month ago or so... is not a big deal for me really, when I won it I didnt even get any prize cause betdsi dont accept CR players so... I just play to shoot the shit with other forum members.

The ridiculous thing here is that you are getting solid advice from very experienced players and you blow it off like it's all BS. But whatever... guess you feeling crafty with that 2nd place.

Assasinato huh? If you know who assasinato is you are full of shit cause no amateur player like you describe yourself will name assassinato, maybe Durr or Isildur1 which were the bomb... Ghost alert.

no pocketrockets, the joke is on you. i was being sarcastic. i already know harry caray is good, i've even asked about having someone coach me and for me to be able to ask questions on what to do in certain poker situations. Honestly i don't take anything seriously but i make people think i am very serious to try and get to know their personality. I mean i can REALLY draw things out with you and take it as far as i can and have fun with it more but i'm not. This is 1 of those things where 1 dog will sniff another dog's butt and then start barking like crazy for no reason. And it's just like that here with me and you. I don't know what it is and i can't explain it but somebody is barking for no reason.

I know i'm not that great of a poker player. 2nd place last night means absolutely nothing. It's just fun, like i keep saying, it's just gambling. What i meant about being scared about Dusty Schmidt and assassinato was that they are 2 of the "big name" players on the winning poker network according to pokerscout. Dusty Schmidt is leatherass9 and alexander fitzgerald is Assasinato although i happened to come across a twitch channel of his and he was playing with Assasinato9 or something on the americas cardroom poker skin.

poketrockets, i know what i am doing, i know i am sarcastic, some people can figure it out but maybe not you because you keep being that guy that Rebuy, Rebuy, Rebuy almost every single time in here so you know what? i gotta go right now and i don't feel like playing poker with you anymore today. Bye bye.

Harry Caray, the answer to your question is that I WANT people to call my shoves ABSOLUTELY. If i get knocked out then i do, it's just on to the next freeroll or tournament, i never complain and i never whine. I am not the guy that talks about bad beats because i already know it can happen. If it's my day then i'll have a chance to get a top 3 prize or something. If it's totally not going to be my day then i just let it go. I promise you i am not going to be the idiot rebuy guy that keeps doing it at the table after they get beat. Don't you think those are so annoying? i absolutely can't stand it. I'm like golly you back at it again and again? PLEASE.

Freerolls, fine. But your bankroll will VANISH if this is your philosophy playing in $30 MTTs. A lot faster than you think too.

I can burn through a couple grand pretty quickly at that buy-in level, just from the variance downswings that come the beast that is MTT. And I consider myself a very good player.

It is a lose lose lose lose lose, make a big score, kind of game. With inferior strategy your cashes will be fewer and farther between and your "big scores" are going to be a lot smaller than a good players. With these top-heavy MTT's there is a big difference between 7th and 2nd place, for example.

Capitalizing on the opportunity when you're running good is a definite skill that is make or break in the MTT game.

The strategy you have outlined...and just from watching your bet sizing last night...there is zero chance you can play these profitably over a reasonable sample size. Zero.

Again, not trying to be a dick. Just giving you a "buyer beware".

How many tournaments have you played to this day? HC, FZ and myself have played prolly over 100k hands in our lifetime... and that's trying to underestimate it... if poker was as easy as you say people would be making shit tons of $ as soon as they start to play. That just doesnt happen... like FZ said, you'll learn.

1 million hands in the last 18 months. :)

Right now, i like the way that i play. I understand how people might not like the way i do it at the table because i am very dangerous. I know what real poker players like to do. They like to 3 bet and play the game a certain way. I am not on their level so my shove can make them fold 3 bet without letting them play it out.

The strategy you're outlining is discussed in detail in a book called "Kill Phil". The premise is that players who know they have inferior skills should play more shove or fold poker, because their skill weaknesses are too exploitable to be doing anything too fancy like playing postflop. :)

If you recognize your skill level is inferior then yes this is probably your best shot at going deep in any one individual MTT.

If you want to get better and play more profitably long-term, then you need to adopt something different.

i appreciate the time harry and yes i would still consider paying you for the opportunity we discussed a while ago. I became an excellent listener long time ago because i have moderate/severe hearing loss ever since i was born. As you can imagine as a kid listening to the teacher in school, i had to do my best instead of being embarrassed asking them to repeat what was said all the time. What this also means is that i am highly coachable.

So if you were the coach and i was on your team, if you told me to do this and that and being exact in every situation, i would follow it like a robot. And i would do this as long as i know you know what you are doing. If you told me bad losses will happen in a row during a certain 3 day stretch, i'd be ok with that too because i'm looking at playing poker 30 days at a time.

there's just 1 thing i don't understand about what you said harry and that is you said you can burn through $1,000 at a time real quick. why would you want to do this harry? if i played the $30 tournament everyday for 30 days that's $900 right there with no rebuy. You're making it sound like depending on your feeling, and the amount of money you can afford to lose, you're going to go in on random tournaments if you're not working.

You know what you are doing in poker so wouldn't you want to pace yourself during certain stretches to guarantee you make your money back AND have a chance at making the top 5 for the big prizes? I can understand burning through $1,000 at a time like water if you already have everything preset that $10,000 worth of buy ins during a 30 day stretch is going to more than make up for your $1,000 buy ins that don't get you anything during a short stretch if you know what i mean.

As far as my $30 entry fee that i would do once a day for 30 days and then hoping i could place in the top 10 3 times out of 30 for that month, that's vanishment right there 27 times of zero but 3 times i make it up there, that's only 10 percent. I mean i think i can do it plus it's $900 for the month, that doesn't sound too bad at all. For me to follow your game and do exactly what you tell me to do, that would be totally separate. I'm stil learning poker yes so you are right about the "Kill Phil" book and thank you for bringing it up. I'm still a beginner at poker but i'm also good enough at math.

Here's my whole point and maybe a lot of people refuse to accept it because they would like to make sports betting and poker a form of living. You might be able to do really good at poker for months, years at a time but in the end, it's gambling. My opinion that i have formulated over the years of gambling is that you always want to make sure you have a guaranteed steady source of income. Even if it's minimum wage part time job, that's good too because i have experienced and seen enough.

How do all these big name poker players do good? Well they probably have the same brain as you harry, very intelligent, they know poker, read all the books, they became popular on tv and then they got the endorsements. Chris Ferguson i think is a good example, he had a good 3 year stretch about 15 years ago, got involved with full tilt poker and he's a president of a club. Why would you want to be a president of a club like that or get involved with full tilt poker if you're so great at it? Yeah that's right gambling is gambling, chris ferguson capitalized on a 3 year stretch and he's a wise man for that unlike eric lindgren.

is eric lindgren a great poker player or did he just get lucky? Does eric lindgren understand poker odds and outs? Gambling is gambling

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of variance. Yes, in the short term an inferior poker player might beat a better player, but in the long term, a better player will *always* come
out ahead. You can call it gambling, but casinos are not gambling when they offer a game with a 1-2% house edge like blackjack. They realize that yes, a player might beat them in
the short term, but a 1-2% house edge will destroy anyone over the long term. Vegas was built on a 1-5% house edge, the whole city.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with Lindgren, as he is bankrupt. He's also a degenerate gambler that frittered away any poker winnings he had on other gambling. He's
also overrated as a poker player.
