Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings (4)

The Houston Rockets are knocking on the door of a playoff spot by reeling off six straight up wins over their last seven games.

Houston hammered Indiana 112-95 on Saturday, pulling within 2 ½ games of eighth spot that the Pacers currently hold in the Western Conference.

"If we were in the East, we'd be in the playoffs right now," guard Courtney Lee told reporters. "In the West, it's a little different. If we play like that, we prove we're capable of making the playoffs. We have to keep pushing and getting wins."

Houston covered as a 6.5-point favorite against Indiana and has cashed in four times over its current hot streak. The Rockets have won three straight against the Kings and covered in each of those victories.

Meanwhile, Sacramento has won just once over the last nine games.

Portland Trail Blazers at Orlando Magic (-3)

The Trail Blazers catch a break on Monday as Orlando will be without Dwight Howard, who will serve a one-game suspension after picking up his 16th technical foul of the season during Friday’s loss to the Bulls.

Portland pounded Charlotte 93-69 as an 11-point favorite on Saturday, taking advantage of the Bobcats, who were without leading scorer Stephen Jackson as he sat out with a hamstring injury. It took a while for Portland to get going, but the club started hitting some shots in the second half and now needs to build on that as the club heads out on a four-game road trip.

“There are some tough games, but some winnable games,” Gerald Wallace told reporters. “We just have to start out with the first one. If we take care of Orlando, everything else will take care of itself.”

The Trail Blazers are at Miami, Charlotte and Atlanta following Monday’s game. They’ll come out swinging against the Magic.

I looked at a few of the books where you can buy points. I can get -9.5 @ -125 juice. So that'll be his play. I could care less if they cover 8, they are going to have to win by 10 if Jordan wants a win today on the tracking thread.

REDD ALERT - 80 Dimer today!

Our pal Redd is pushing an 80 dimer to start of his week since he's on a roll. it is ONLY HIS 2nd EVER 80 DIME NCAAB play! However, what he fails to mention is that his 1st ever 80 dime play on February 16th was Youngstown +10.5. They lost by 12.

His play is on the Gonzaga - St. Mary's game. Not sure if we'll be able to find it in time, but this is such a dumb game to sell. The line was -2 for Gonzaga and has fallen to -1. The public betting is basically split 50-50/ You have 2 teams, one 23-9, the other 24-7, both 11-3 in the conference. There is very little difference between their offensive or defensive stats.

The only reason Redd is putting out this play, especially at 80 dimes, is simply because it has the 2 biggest names out there on the card tonight, so he's hoping some lost souls will pay 55$ for this pick alone. It's nothing but another day at scamadvisors dot com.

Portland Trail Blazers at Miami Heat (-8.5)

Say what you will about tear-jerking loss the Miami Heat suffered on Sunday night, but there’s no way any team in the Association would trade places with the Portland Trail Blazers as they visit the Heat on Tuesday.

There’s no question the Heat are still a work in progress, a team that has most of the tools a championship team needs but still can’t put all the pieces of the puzzle together every night. That’s why cohesive teams are getting the better of them.

That’s not to say they don’t have the talent to torch subpar teams – especially when they’re coming off an embarrassing display like that debacle Sunday’s game turned into down the stretch.

"That was one of the things we got to understand when we all decided to come together,” Dwyane Wade said about giving up fourth-quarter shots to LeBron James. “That there were going to be sacrifices that have to be made. And you live with the consequences."

Remember when LeBron visited Cleveland for the first time? Expect that kind of effort Tuesday as Miami bounces back against a Portland club playing its second game in as many nights.

Providence Friars at Marquette Golden Eagles (154)

The Marquette Golden Eagles’ game plan for Tuesday’s matchup with Providence is no big secret: shut down Marshon Brooks, who ranks second in the nation scoring 24.8 points per game.

The thing that sets Marquette apart is that the club actually has had some success in holding the 6-foot-5 sniper in check – thanks in large part to 6-foot-7 senior forward Jimmy Butler.

Butler drew the assignment of guarding Brooks the last time the two teams hooked up and held him to 17 points on 7-for-16 shooting in a 86-62 blowout victory.

"Maybe more than other volume shooters, volume scorers, he doesn't score because of his quicks,” Marquette coach Buzz Williams said of Brooks. “He doesn't score because he's fast. He scores because he's rhythmic and because he's so long. I think the thing that helped us last game is Jimmy can match his length.”

Butler will have his hands full again on Tuesday and we think Brooks helps to push this over the number.
