ANTHONY REDD 2011
(Nobody's Trick!)

2011 YTD: 76-71, -629.5 Dimes

Redd had another good night, gaining 90 units yesterday. He's put up good numbers the last week or so, slowly trying to get back some of the January and February disaster. I actually got lucky as I jumped off fading him when his plays were no longer available every day and I would suggest to everyone else that it might be a good time to either stop fading him or reduce the units you are playing on the fade. That being said, he has a 50 dimer going tonight and he seems to struggle when his plays are 50 dimes or more. If I see the game somewhere I'll post it here.

FRIDAY 3/4/2011

NBA

Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks (-12)

The Knicks are poised for some serious revenge to start the weekend.

The Cavaliers stunned the Knicks 115-109 last week in Ohio, taking away all the momentum New York had gained since upsetting the Heat in the prior game. Cleveland won the game by controlling the paint and playing physical. The Cavaliers made a whopping 31-of-44 free throws and held a 62-42 edge on rebounds.

But this time will be a little different.

The Cavaliers will be missing Antawn Jamison (finger), the team’s leading scorer who went off for 28 points and 13 boards with no turnovers in the victory. Cleveland also is expected to give some burn to the recently acquired Baron Davis for the first time in this game. For a player known to stop trying on bad teams, this isn’t necessarily a good thing.

The Knicks, meanwhile, are coming off a 107-88 beatdown of the Hornets and are playing more consistently. The team may miss lead guard Chauncey Billups (thigh), but Toney Douglas has been serviceable as his replacement in small doses, finishing with 24 points, five assists and four rebounds in the win over New Orleans.

"I talked to him this morning," Billups said of Douglas. "I told him, 'Try not to defer so much to the guys. When you call a plan, just run it no matter what people say or what you might feel. Be in command out there.’

"And I know it's probably tough for him as a young player playing with those studs like that, guys that are alpha males. So I know it's a difficult position for him, but I told him, 'Be confident in what you do.'"

Pick: New York

NCAA

Pennsylvania Quakers at Harvard Crimson (-10.5)

There’s no denying Harvard is one of the top teams in the Ivy League this year. But the Crimson aren’t that great as a large favorite.

When listed as double-digit chalk this season, Harvard is a less-than-impressive 3-4 ATS, including late home rallies against Yale and Dartmouth just to pull out the wins. And the Quakers love being big underdogs.

Penn is a staggering 3-1 ATS this season when getting more than 10 points and actually trailed Kentucky by just a point at halftime in a game at Rupp Arena earlier this season. The Quakers may be just 4-9 SU on the road, but the squad is a very solid 7-5 ATS in lined games away from Philadelphia this season.

"We always talk about some days the ball is going in the basket, and some days it's not," said Penn coach Jerome Allen floor. "But if you're consistent in your defensive effort, you always give yourself a chance to win."

In the teams’ earlier meeting, Harvard left the Palestra with a one-point overtime win. But the officiating in that game was so poor that league officials were forced to comment on it the following day.

Plus, it’s not like the Crimson are in rare form. Harvard is coming off a disappointing 70-69 loss at Yale that saw the team favored by six points. Overall, the Crimson are just 2-4 ATS in their past six as favorites.

Pick: Penn

Seeing that Jordan's Pepperdine play was actually released at -5, but I'm seeing nothing but -4.5 and -4 across the board and it looks like it never even moved to -5, not sure why he released it as -5 :think2:

Vegas-Runner finally had a decent night last night:

But like I said yesterday you really only want to fade his NBA plays because he's close to even with his NCAABB.

Read on his website that he does have some NBA action tonight.

SATURDAY 3/5/2011

NBA

Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers (210)

You have to wonder where the Clippers would be in the standings if they could have stayed healthy this season. Now that Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman are back after lengthy layoffs, Los Angeles is looking to save some face down the stretch.

"We've just got to build our chemistry with the new guys we have - and now with myself and Eric healthy, we'll see how it goes," Kaman told reporters. "We have 20 games left, and we just want to show what we can do going into next season."

Of course following the ‘Melo trade, Denver is in a similar situation, though the Nuggets still have a lot to play for. Surprisingly, Denver’s offense looks just as potent without Anthony as coach George Karl mixes and matches his lineup on a nightly basis.

We’re expecting both clubs to put some points on the board in this one.

Pick: Over

NCAAB

Colorado State Rams at San Diego State Aztecs (-12)

The Aztecs are looking to make Senior Night that much more special by hanging a Mountain West Conference championship banner from the rafters.

With BYU slumping down the stretch following Brandon Davies’ suspension, the Aztecs can tie BYU for the best record in the conference with a win Saturday.

“We’re 28-2. Nobody has more wins, nobody has fewer losses,” coach Steve Fisher told reporters. “That’s significant. The culmination of a conference season is you want to try to win a conference championship, and now we have an opportunity to do that, and hopefully we will play that way.”

There isn’t any doubt San Diego State will get up for this one, but don’t count Colorado State out. The Rams battled the Aztecs right down to the wire in a 56-54 loss as a 5.5-point underdog last month.

San Diego State won’t take the Rams lightly, though beware the backdoor cover here.

Pick: Colorado State

Looks lie Jordan was hanging out with Larry, Curly and Moe yesterday!

Yes, I lost last night. Sitting baseline at the Orleans Arena, I watched in utter disgust being up 7 with less than a minute to go, and then watching San Diego backdoor its game with Pepperdine. My three guests - all five-figure players - couldn't believe what they were seeing either.

Jordan 300 tri; cinci -3, xavier -4, wash -3 (nba)

Nice made up line on Cincy there, game has been -3.5 everywhere since last night. Guess we'll have to charge him -120 if he loses.

Same thing for the Washington game, only time -3 was available was yesterday. So that game will also be charged as -120 if he loses.

Does he think no one checks these things?
