A tale of 2 different results as we arrive to this night time matchup between old rivals as Maryland rolls into Virginia as a small road chalk.
The Terrapins wet the bed as an 8 1/2 point home favorite losing outright to Michigan State 27-24.
Now that was a Michigan State offense that a week at home could only muster up 293 total yards of offense in their 16-10 win over FAU, only 119 in the air.
The Maryland defense allowed them to run for 121, throw for 363. That is almost 500 yards total offense in your house.
Now they face a Virginia team that returns 16 starters and ranks 6th in the country in returning production, arguably Tony Elliots best team in this his 3rd year here.
Huge comeback for them last week at Wake Forest 31-30 with most of their damage coming thru the air, as Anthony Colandrea went 33 for 43 for 357.
Before the season started I had 2 dark horses in the ACC: Boston College and Virginia.
Both have proven me spot on so far and I am confident Virginia gets it done at home tonight.

After hammering home the 50 dime winner on the Padres Wednesday, 75 dime winner on Chiefs Thursday and 60 dimer UNLV Friday, felt good about Saturday.
Winning day #4 in a row, full slate of College games, off a 10-point dog outright on Friday night with UNLV, let's go baby.
Then I watched in horror Virginia turn it over not once, not twice, not three times but 4 times at home against Maryland and say goodnight on that 150 dime loss.
So frustrating. At one point in the 1st half Virginia had a 254-50 yard advantage but squandered 4 trips inside the red zone including a pair of 1st and goal inside the 5.
Then they came out in the 2nd half flat and never sniffed the end zone again and you have to love his quote after the game.
"I've got to do a better job of having them ready to play in the 2nd half."
OMG!!!!!! Really!!!!! Like you didn't do your job???? Wow.
Just the wrong team at home that the moment was too big for and a coach who once again choked in a very big way. Same old Virginia in Elliot's 3rd year.
