I said in my analysis, "Maybe the Nuggets just aren't that good!!!"
NBA champs? Sure but really, if the Celtics don't implode against Miami and it's Boston who Denver had to face last year, do they really win??
I mean seriously, the Lakers outplayed them in the 1st round and probably should have won the series but Denver squeaked by.
But I used the T Wolves in game one and picked up 150 dimes of net profit and added another 50 dimes to the bankroll with that winner last night.
Mark my words, the Nuggets are getting swept. Jamaal Murray will be suspended for game 3 for throwing the heating pad on the court.
The only question is if they will cover a game.

My Analysis

I believe they pick up right where they left off.



The Dallas Mavs looked dead in the water after losing game 4 at home 116-111, allowing the Clippers to tie the series 2-2.



Then a funny thing happened....they found themselves and put together back to back blowouts 123-93 and 114-101 to take the series 4-2.



This OKC team is going to find out real quick this Mavs team is not the New Orleans Pelicans.



These two met 4 times in the regular season but only one of those meetings were both teams at full strength, the February 10th meeting at Dallas.



The Mavs destroyed them 146-111, outrebounding the Thunder 54-40, shot 58% from the floor with Doncic scoring 32 and Irving 25.



The first meeting at Dallas on December 2nd saw the Mavs playing without Kyrie Irving and the Thunder, as 5 1/2 point road favorites, won it 126-120.



The 3rd meeting March 14th at OKC, the Mavs were playing without Doncic and, as 9 1/2 point dogs lost 126-119, still covering.



The last meeting was the last game of the regular season when the Mavs sat all their starters and the Thunder were playing for the #1 seed.



OKC won 135-86.



So here we are. Game one and just like I said yesterday about Minnesota and Denver, I am telling you the same thing here.



At full strength, the T Wolves handled the Nuggets easily and it's apparent to me at full strength the Mavs did the same with OKC.



So the bottom line for me is this: Until this young OKC team can show me they can handle Kyrie and Luca and beat the Mavs, I will gladly take the points.



I mean, 146-11 speaks volumes to the match up problems that OKC had when these teams were at full strength.

Agreed all the way around - just saying that similar to his coming back for revenge on teams that didn't cover for him, this is also common - a decent pick will be for a small amount, when he lauds "100 dime plays" and just lost one the night before. Just like last night.

LANG'S PICK: INDIANA PACERS +4 1/2

Well that was frustrating to watch.
As good as Luka Doncic was in games 5 and 6 against the Clippers was as bad as that man was last night.
He was 6 of 19 from the floor, 1 of 8 from 3, missed 4 free throws and turned it over 5 times.
Also gave Jason Kidd a crack at having his team ready to play but Jason proved once again to be one of the worst playoff game one coaches ever.
Dallas is 0-5 in Game 1's under Kidd.
Bottom line: OKC was the right side of the game. Flat out missed it.
Only one game on the docket tonight. It's game 2 between the Pacers and the Knicks.
Looking to hammer home this 2nd straight 50 dime winner after the T Wolves (+6') in game 2 over Denver.
Minnesota hammered them 106-80. Game two is Friday and as I said yesterday, that series is a sweep.
Only question is whether Denver shows some heart and covers a game.
Guess we will see Friday.
In the meantime, game two is on the table tonight between the Pacers and Knicks.
We'll see if Jalen Brunson puts it up Rick Carlisle's ass for a 2nd straight game.

It will be interesting to see what he comes up with Thursday and Friday. He doesn't normally come with giant lines like in the Celtics game, but does he have the nuts to come back with Dallas? He tries to think, maybe Twolves are better, will he take them minus about 5? Any decent handicapper may just sit a game out . That won't happen when it's all about sales.
