First and foremost, Merry Christmas to everyone out there. Now let's see if yours truly can make it a little better.
Here comes 75 dime winner #5 in a row tonight.
Let's stop the bleeding with a 2nd straight Monday night winner and a 5th straight 75 dime winner as well.
Came into the weekend with all the momentum in the world with 5 straight winners Monday thru Friday.
I'm talking 3 straight 75 dime winners on Seattle Monday, Providence Tuesday and Duke on Wednesday.
Followed that up with a pair of 100 dime winners Thursday with South florida and Friday with Cal State Northridge.
And then I give all that profit away with a pair of 200 dime losses over the weekend.
First up, just a bad call on San Jose State Saturday and of course the heartbreaker on Sunday with Dallas, who gave the game away against Miami.
When you have 1st and goal at the 1-yard line on the first possession of the game and you fumble it away, those 7 points you leave off the board will come back to haunt you.
AND THEY DID!!!!

Time to roll up my sleeves and bang home this 2nd straight Monday night 75 dime after last Monday's 75 dime winner on Seattle (+3 1/2) outright over Philly.
And it's a 5th straight 75 dime winner overall.
If I have said it once I've said it a million times: winning streaks start one winner at a time and I have most certainly done that the last 10 days.
Tonight is about winning day #6 out of 8 and winning day #8 out of 11.

Last year the Rice Owls finished the season 5-7 but they were awarded the Lending Tree Bowl because they had the highest APR of all the 5-7 teams available.
Pays to be smart folks.
As 6-point dogs they came up short against Southern Miss 38-24.
They welcomed back 15 starters from that team and finished the season 6-6 but trust me when I tell you, with a break or two, it could have been much better.
They were 4-3 when they faced the top 3 teams in the league 3 weeks in a row.
Getting +10 against Tulane, they had the Green Wave beat before falling late 30-28. Getting +13 against SMU they had a shot to win late but lost 36-31.
The game at UTSA just got away from them and they lost 34-14.
They rallied to win their last 2 at Charlotte 28-7 and at home over FAU 24-21.
They could very easily have won 2 of those 3 and then we would be looking at an 8-4 football team and not 6-6..
I like this team. I like their coach Mike Bloomgren.
After last year's bowl loss to Southern Miss, Bloomgren said his players can still remember how empty they felt after losing.
"They came to work every day over the last year with the mindset to not only return to a bowl but to return as champions."
He finished it by saying, "that determination drove them to close out the season with wins in our last 2 games to earn this opportunity."

As for Texas State, I get they started the season 4-1 highlighted by their season opening upset as 27-point underdogs beating Baylor outright 42-31.
They went 2-4 over their next 6 with losses to Louisiana , Troy, Coastal Carolina and the shocker of the year at Arkansas State.
As 3-point road favorites, they were absolutely destroyed to a level of the Titanic hitting the iceberg and no life rafts left: I'm talking a beat down 77-31.
That is not a misprint.....77-31!!!!!!!!!!
Folks, I just watched Arkansas State in their bowl game struggle to score 19 points against an average defense like Northern Illinois....and they put up 77 on this Texas State defense?????
I'm sorry folks, no team that gave up near 80, not to a Texas, or Alabama, or Ohio State or a Georgia........but to ARKANSAS STATE!!!!!!!!
Rice is going to play this game like it's the Super bowl and I will gladly take any points you are willing to give me. Simple as that.
