The Jags roll into the French Quarter full of confidence but a game time decision on their QB Trevor Lawrence.
Lawrence tweaked his knee last week versus the Colts and if he can't go, back up CJ Bethard will be the guy.
I believe either guy will struggle tonight against the Saints defense, especially on the road.
New Orleans D has been rock solid all year long.
They held the Titans to 15, the Panthers to 17, the Packers to 18, they shut out the Patriots and held the Texans to 20.
Only Tampa Bay put up over 20 on them in the 26-9 home loss 3 weeks ago.
I love the match up of the Saints defense versus the offense of the Jags.
On the other side, the Jags defense leads the league in takeaways with 15 and second in turnover margin (+7) and 3rd in run defense at 75.3 per game.
That means the game will fall into the hands of Derek Carr, who could just be the worst red zone QB in NFL history.
Last week in Houston, the Saints last 3 drives reached the Texans 11, 15 and 24 yard line and came away with 0 points.
They turned it over on downs, threw a pick and missed a 29 yard field goal.
All things considered and on a short week, I don't see either of these offenses having their way tonight.

Yes, I've been around a long time. It's fun to bash Lang and be a good handicapper. Most around here don't like talking about games or betting them; they're more obsessed with what we already figured out a long time ago. That is, Lang is of course a loser, and big time, especially in football season.

I branched out, doing music trivia and such. Pop/R&B hits of the 60s-70s. Nobody could google-cheat in the early days of Forumville.

But even back then it was all in good fun. The real fights were usually contained in one thread.
A lot of good people from these sites have passed away. I know from personal experience people are rough on each other on these sites. And fight with other sites. I'm still trying to not tell half the world to eff off myself. Even when you know you're right, mostly it's not worth it.

I always had fun posting on how bad a 'capper Lang was, I made entire threads where I posted his plays and had huge fade runs, and Pimpy called me a liar and that I never did that. The reason that came up in the first place is that people come here and, whether right or wrong, desire or expect to see a play to fade so they can get in on the fun. Until Steve came around (thanks Steve), usually there was nothing that anyone would post so it'd be just a tracking thread (slater did a good job before that, intermittently for a while). Pimpy's ego and all his butthurt lies couldn't take that people were complaining that this isn't a fade thread, and in part that is legitimate, because that's what the thread boasts - that it is a fade thread. So he lashes out at people. He doesn't make picks, he doesn't provide any Lang fades, and then when I said I did (and proved it to others when he railed against me) he called me a liar.
The truth is, bottom line, Pimpy doesn't really do anything for people except track a handicapper named Brandon Link (Lang), who consistently loses, which is something EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS. What does that mean? It means he either has an unnatural obsession with Lang, or is a weirdo, or both, and can't stand it when people point out that he's not actually doing anything for anyone else. Then when other people do something for others, or point this out, he gets mad and tries to malign them and boot them from the thread.
