"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal god and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." Albert Einstein

If I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think he would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God, and whose every deed is foul, foul, foul.

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.

To say that atheism requires faith is as dim-witted as saying that disbelief in pixies or leprechauns takes faith. Even if Einstein himself told me there was an elf on my shoulder, I would still ask for proof and I wouldn’t be wrong to ask.

Everything in the vast & endless Universe could not have just been "here" in the beginning so therefore everything in the Universe was definitely created by a higher power. My higher power is God. roadreeler57

Honestly, that has to be one of the dumbest quotes I have ever heard.

Idiot is equating the amount of faith in:

- looking at the universe and saying the it all just happened by itself,
from nothing

- saying there is no such thing as pixies

"Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Oxford... all founded as Christian institutions
of higher learning" - FesteringZit

To say as the above idiot did that all religious men are without
intelligence proves that Abu'-ala-Donkey is both a liar and
an imbecile.

Exactly, scientists have said we don't know but we're willing to do the work and find out.

The religions of the world are relying on books written hundreds/Thousands of years ago.

Who knows if the trekkers grow enough a thousand years from now Capt. Kirk could be the messiah.

"The religions of the world are relying on books..."

Umm... (sigh) The Intelligent Design movement has nothing to
do with religion. Care to try again?
