[h=1]Lebanon Christian Library with 80,000 Books Is Burned Down After Owner Was Falsely Accused of Insulting Islam, Mohammed[/h] Jan. 5, 2014 2:26pm Sharona Schwartz

A Christian library in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli was intentionally burned down on Friday night after its owner, a Greek Orthodox priest, was falsely accused of writing an article insulting Islam and the prophet Mohammed.
Assailants set fire to the Saeh Library, destroying two-thirds of the collection of 80,000 books and manuscripts, the French news agency Agence France-Presse reported.
Father Ibrahim Surouj, a Greek Orthodox priest who owns the library was earlier accused of writing a pamphlet that was insulting to Islam and the prophet Mohammed, a Lebanese security source told AFP.
The unnamed source said that later, however, “it became clear the priest had nothing to do with the pamphlet.”
In an interview on Lebanese television on Saturday, Father Surouj said he forgives those responsible and prays for peace in Tripoli, Ya Libnan reported.

Lebanon’s Daily Star reported that “civil defense teams struggled to put out the flames which engulfed the bookstore,” calling the site “one of Lebanon’s most renowned libraries.”
Even Muslim leaders defended the priest against the accusation he had written an anti-Muslim article. Salafist Sheikh Salem al-Rafei told reporters he would like to see Lebanese security forces prosecute those who incited the arson attack.
“I call on [security agencies] to prosecute those who incited, ordered and issued a fatwa in favor of the attack rather than the fervent boys who carried out the attack,” Rafei said.
The former head of Internal Security Forces Ashraf Rifi echoed the assessment that the arson attack resulted from rumors about an article insulting the prophet Mohammed.
Internal Security Forces Brig. Imad Ayyoubi dismissed the allegations against the Christian leader.
“Father Surouj has nothing to do with the article and the source of the website is from Denmark and was published on Jan. 7, 2010,” Ayyoubi said, adding that investigators believe they know who perpetrated the attack.
Hundreds of Lebanese citizens demonstrated Saturday in Lebanon’s second largest city in support of the priest, while others volunteered to try to salvage books and rebuild the library.

The Iraqi military were on Sunday night trying to dislodge al-Qaida militants in the city of Ramadi, near the Syrian border, using air strikes which left at least 34 people dead.
The action came as al-Qaida fighters were also reported to have taken control of Falluja and underlined the fragility of Syria and Iraq's shared border, which is becoming increasingly exposed as standoffs with Islamist militants in both countries appear to be reaching a defining phase.

Iraqi officials say reinforcements of al-Qaida-linked militants are crossing from Syria into Iraq. At the same time, members of the group are fending off fierce attacks across northern Syria.
The US secretary of state, John Kerry, on a visit to the Middle East, said he was extremely worried by developments in Iraq, which the US military left in late 2010 after occupying it for nearly eight years.

[h=1]Sunnis against Shias: a strategic absurdity
[/h] Iran and Saudi Arabia are both bent on unrealistic plans for dominance in the Middle East or, at the very least, on denying the dominance of the other.

The Middle East is in the grip of a war neither side can win. The conflict in the region between Sunnis and Shias, from Lebanon to Iraq, is a strategic absurdity, which makes the death toll even more tragic than it would otherwise be.

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed. Muhammad's own martial legacy - and that of his companions - along with the remarkable stress on violence found in the Quran have produced a trail of blood and tears across world history.

Doesn't the Bible say Kill those who work on Sabbath, and Kill Women who aren't Virgins? Lots of ridiculous, insane stuff in every Religion, Muslim included.

Obama and Kerry want to cover their eyes. But guess what kiddies, regardless of whether the next president has D or R before his name the US will be taking military action in the ME again, and soon. All the Muslim led countries there are either autocracies seeking nuclear weapons, or lawless nations run by terror gangs seeking nukes, chemical weapons, shoulder fired missiles and whatever they can get their hands on. Fortunately for Obama CNN doesn't have reporters in Iraq and Syria anymore. Where have you gone Arwa Damon?

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."

(Hadiths are regarded by traditional Islamic schools of jurisprudence as important tools for understanding the Quran and in matters of jurisprudence. Hadith were evaluated and gathered into large collections during the 8th and 9th centuries. These works are referred to in matters of Islamic law and history to this day).

The Muslim Brotherhood - also called Muslim Brethren or The Society of the Muslim Brothers (Arabic: جمعية الأخوان المسلمون Jamiat al-Ikhwan al-muslimun) - is an Islamic organization with a political approach to Islam. It was founded in Egypt in 1928 by cleric Hassan al-Banna after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Though many claim the organization decries violence, the Brotherhood is often viewed as the root source of Islamic terrorism.

According to founder al-Banna, “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”

Muslims stampede

[h=1]China: 14 killed in mosque stampede[/h]
Fourteen people have been killed and 10 injured in a stampede during a gathering at a mosque in northwest China's Ningxia region, state media reported Monday.

The stampede occurred around 1:00 pm on Sunday while traditional food was being handed out to people attending an event to commemorate a late religious leader, Xinhua news agency said, citing the local government.

The injured were hospitalised, with four in critical condition, the brief report said.

An investigation was under way into the cause of the stampede at the mosque in Xiji town, some 320 kilometres (200 miles) northwest of Xian.

Ningxia region is home to the Chinese-speaking Hui minority, who are mostly Muslim but distinct from the Uighurs of Xinjiang.

Syria is undergoing an accelerated process of Islamization, which is led by extremist Islamist rebel groups that follow sharia courts, and who operate a morality police force that enforces law and order Islam-style.
In Haleb, two men were convicted of failing to take part in the Friday prayers, and were sentenced to 25 lashes each, to be delivered publicly.
The two convicted men were brought to the city square, where they were flogged on their bare backs. The crowd that had gathered watched the scene quietly.
This is not the first time that the Ahrar al-Sham Islamist organization carried out flogging sentences in public. The Islamic organizations' religious court has even meted out sentences of capital punishment in the past.

[h=2]Analysis[/h] Jim Muir BBC News
Mr Maliki did not say how he expected the people of Fallujah to drive out the Islamist militants - a task which cost the American forces many lives in several major battles from 2004 on.
He also appealed to the powerful Sunni tribes in the area to help. However, tribal fighters are reported to have taken to the streets - not to drive out ISIS fighters, but to prevent the Iraqi army from coming back in.
As happened during the insurgency, the Islamist militants have been able to benefit from deep-seated grievances among the Sunnis against Mr Maliki and his Shia-dominated government. His drive to restore control is being seen by them as an attempt at domination and oppression, and it is taking Iraq back to the brink of a sectarian civil war and fragmentation.
But his military commanders insist a big offensive is on the way, and they say it will only take a few days to root out what they call "the terrorists".

[h=1]Kohistan 'honour' killing:[/h]
_72104303_rukhsana.jpg

On a hot and humid night in late August, a small group quietly scales the wall of a mud-brick house in a village near Pakistan's north-western town of Akora Khatak.
In the dim, starlit courtyard, they make out the figures of a man and a woman lying in two separate charpoy cots, sleeping. About 15 minutes later, they walk out through the main door, leaving the couple in pools of blood.
This description of the scene in Akora Khatak forms the backdrop to allegations of a so-called "honour killing", one of the great unspoken stories of the Pakistan-Afghanistan region where it widely prevails. Nowhere is it pursued as doggedly as in Kohistan, a remote and mountainous region in northern Pakistan.

Nice friendly Muslims.

The code is simple: Any contact, even just communication between a man and a woman outside of customary wedlock is considered a breach of the honour of the woman's family, and gives it the right to seek bloody revenge.
The woman's family must first kill her and then go after the man.
The mere expression of suspicion by the woman's family is enough evidence and the community demands no further proof.
Once such a suspicion has been expressed, local custom prevents the family of the man killed in this way from avenging his death or reporting it to the police.

[h=1]Pakistan acid attack parents 'feared dishonour'[/h]
A couple arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of killing their 15-year-old daughter with acid say they carried out the attack because she looked at a boy.
The girl's father told the BBC that they feared she would bring dishonour on their family. Her mother said it was her "destiny" to die that way.
The couple were arrested in Pakistani-administered Kashmir last week.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan reported 943 women died in so-called honour killings last year.

A 10-year-old girl who apparently attempted to carry out a suicide attack wearing a vest packed with explosives has been detained by Afghan authorities.
The girl, named only as Spozhmai, appeared at a news conference in Lashkar Gah, capital of Helmand province.
She told how her brother, reportedly a Taliban commander, had forced her to wear the vest and ordered her to detonate herself at a police checkpoint.
"I was tired of my stepmother. My brother told me to wear the black vest, go to the police checkpoint and press the button," she told reporters.
"I went past a river and decided to drop the vest. My brother fled and police arrested me."

An Afghan girl believed to be 10-years-old says that her brother and his friend forced her to wear a suicide vest and carry out an attack on police.
The BBC reported that the girl, named Spogmai, could be as young as eight and is the sister of a prominent Taliban commander known as Zahir.

According to Britain’s Daily Telegraph, her brother strapped her into the explosive harness and sent her across a river to her target, a border police checkpoint in Helmand province.
In an interview after the ordeal, she said that she shouted “it’s cold and I can’t cross the water.”
She said that her brother and his friend then took her home where her father beat her. Later that night, she says, she ran away from home and in the morning surrendered to police.
The Telegraph quoted local reports which suggested that the girl’s male relatives had pressured her into the terrorist act with accusations of “illicit relations” with officers.
Border police Col Hamidullah Siddique said that the girl has asked the police not to send her home to her family due to fear of reprisals.
Siddique told NBC News, “She was crying and told border police that she was made obliged by her brother to do suicide attack on them.”
Police are now looking for her brother.
Recent media reports have documented the rising numbers of children being recruited as suicide bombers by the Taliban, including a report in the Guardian which said that often this comes “with their parents’ blessing.”
Here is an interview she gave after her harrowing experience:
