OUR? OUR?

you live in fn Costa Rica...don't explain OUR society to any of us

I still have a US Pssport. My kids still plan on moving back. Istill am required to pay taxes in the US. I think this makes it OUR society even including me. As much as I love Costa Rica I will always be a proud American. Our country is designed to be the greatest in the world. Unfortunately the politicians don't follow the game plan.

OUR!!!! OUR!!!! OUR!!!!

Funny to think I had to move to Costa Rica to be more free and enjoy a better quality of life.

Why am I so concerned?

Buddy I am proud to be a 1st generation American. Unfortunately I had to move to CR to live the American Dream.

For every Gringo who moves to CR, there are 50 Ticos moving to the US to live the American dream.

How much of your time do you donate to charitable causes? Get out there and start giving a fuck about the orphans, homeless or whomever. Believe me it feels great. If it wasn't for my good friend viejo dinosaur I would still be thinking like you.

The strength of our society is determined by our weakest link. Help strength and advance the causes of the disadvantage and it will make everyone stronger.

Things like that should be done every chance you get not just on holidays. That's if one can afford it BTW.

My Teachers suggest that one 'cannot afford to not afford it' if we wish to reach higher stages of enlightenment.

Christ shared the parable of the woman giving her two coins though she was extremely poor and that's one of the more well known illustrations of how we might each live.

Now if I can just remember that the next time I've got just $50 and the chance to share $20 comes up....heh

Dodging, me and a buddy of mine buy food for an orphanage every month. It's run by a nun also. Hope it's not the same place

If it is no big deal because of all the help Arturos crew gave them this year they are expanding from 3 houses of kids to four. Also if they have enough food I buy toilet paper, sanitary napkins, etc. We have bought them three sewing machines so they can teach the girls to be self-sufficient.

You might be a right wing facist but your ok in my book.

Interesting tack on your earlier post MJ

My accurate summation of at least 50% of Southern Christians being Democratic voters does not leave out the at least 40% of Christians from the same region (southeast to southern USA...aka The Bible Belt) who are stern conservatives politically.

And it is that latter demographic that pours the most money and energy into trying to insert their religious beliefs into local, state and federal government policies.

From what I've heard from friends up Illinois/Michigan/Minnesota/Wisconsin way, the most common brands of Christianity practiced cover a much more balanced and common sense base of people who for the most part don't try and shove their philosophies - either conservative or liberal - on their neighbors at the expense of the US Constitution.

Come live south of the Mason Dixon line for five years and you'll see both strong Democrat Christians and also stern Republican Fundy Christians making themselves much more visible within the realm of influencing public policies.

You may very well be right...and thank God I live where I'm insulated from all the crap I read here.

The weather isn't always the best here...but you people can have the coasts.

I'll stay in flyover country.

" Christian Values?" Not everyone is Christian or even religous at that? Gee lets see, your a Christian, yet you are a bigtime gambler?? Gee I bet that makes it to the contradicting stage.

How do you know I'm a big time gambler? Without assuming that is...because the fact is you don't know anything about me.

I could be Charles Manson with a really generous library warden for all you know. :):)

Besides...I don't consider that I gamble at all.

I just win. :103631605
