He's the politically correct answer but not what the country needs.

Well,

We all worry about ourselves before anyone else anyway. Its called survival. I'm sure you aren't very worried about me or my family when you lie down at night. I don't expect you to be. 99 percent of people could give a fuck about anyone else but themselves. I'm one of the 1 percent that halfway give a damn. Good luck to you and your business.

Obama isn't the answer

You nailed it on the head and obviously aren't worried about helping others. How much of your time do you donate to charitable causes? Get out there and start giving a fuck about the orphans, homeless or whomever. Believe me it feels great. If it wasn't for my good friend viejo dinosaur I would still be thinking like you.

I didn't say you didn't give. I just asked how much time a week, month ot year do you and your buddies that have thrived in this time period donate to worthy causes. If you don't that's fine. You don't have to get defensive. Trust me it is the best feeling you can get when you feel the thanks they give you and how much they appreciate it.

I also own a small business and thrived up until just after the Libs took congress. Matbe you were doing something wrong because most of those years were great.

I also own a successful business (11 yrs in Florida, 12 before that in DFW TX) which gives me a respectable income that is above the national average and which pays absolutely no attention to what happens in Washington DC

I am now expanding that business with a new project that also has little concern with what happens in Washington DC until such time as my household adjusted gross income rises above 250,000 per year.

My suggestion to small business owners is to quit looking to Washington DC as your boogeyman for why you might not be succeeding at present. It was useless over the past eight years to "blame BushCo" and it's just as useless to begin a new habit of "blaming ObamaCo" for whatever failings and shortcomings your business plan is experiencing.

Primary occupations past 11 years have been my lawn/garden business (residential maintenance) and until this past Feb 1 I did educational work for a non-profit at $16K per year

I resigned the latter position so that I could begin some other for-profit projects to help finance our ability to buy a place in Costa Rica down there in DPH's neighborhood for good winter time alternative living

Oh, and don't forget the $1.79 per hour I get for being the RxForums LateNightMod

First step in my new for-profit venture is to replace that fat jack

A lot of us do...have you ever seen how the left wingers treat Christians and church goers around here?

It's clearly the left that is trying to tear down Christian values.

At least 50% of the more visible Christian congregations here in the South are made up of Democratic voters.

Spare us the bogus and paranoid inferences that only the Republicans and "the right" can harmonize with Christian philosophy.

Obama has no clue what he's doing and what is worse, neither do the people that he has surrounded himself with.

I respectfully have do disagree, BO knows exactly what he’s doing, and it ain’t good for you and me. :toast:

Well on the flip side the Christian Conservative try to push their values on us and for the most part the cliberal Christians don't. I grew up in a liberal Christian household and live in a liberal Catholic country. They let you do what you want to do for the most part.

See..thats what I'm talking about. And you see it here on this forum every day...despite Barman's blinders.

I've been a Christian all my life...never heard of or met a Christian conservative. Never....ever.

Never had anyone push "Christian politics" on me...nor have I seen it done to anyone else...or heard of it within my circle of oh....thousands of Christians.

The only paranoid ramblings around here...are from the lefties scared to death of Christian bogeymen that don't exist.

Not to mention the ridiculous moral equivalency arguments put forth here by the same paranoid lefties....comparing Christians to radical Islam.

What planet are these people on? :think2:

Really that is the opposite for me. In Phoenix there are a ton of Christian conservative. They try to push for abolishment of abortion, gambling, drinking, prayer in school, stiffer penalties for non-violent drug offenders, and many others views. Just my experience.

Interesting tack on your earlier post MJ

My accurate summation of at least 50% of Southern Christians being Democratic voters does not leave out the at least 40% of Christians from the same region (southeast to southern USA...aka The Bible Belt) who are stern conservatives politically.

And it is that latter demographic that pours the most money and energy into trying to insert their religious beliefs into local, state and federal government policies.

From what I've heard from friends up Illinois/Michigan/Minnesota/Wisconsin way, the most common brands of Christianity practiced cover a much more balanced and common sense base of people who for the most part don't try and shove their philosophies - either conservative or liberal - on their neighbors at the expense of the US Constitution.

Come live south of the Mason Dixon line for five years and you'll see both strong Democrat Christians and also stern Republican Fundy Christians making themselves much more visible within the realm of influencing public policies.
