What a mess.

They really should think about cutting the playoffs down from 12 teams.

The NFL allows 12 of 32.

Teams at 5-11 can possibly make the playoffs (<33% win%)

I would be OK with 8 teams (2 division winners and 2 wild cards from each conference) and no byes

Philly to me still has the best offense in the league with Matt behind the helm and they go on the road to face the New York Dragons. I had this line Philly -3.5 with them in the hunt for home field throughout the playoffs and how fitting is this that the line comes out at -1. Here is the break down.

If New Orleans beats GRR as a -8.5 favorite, NY has nothing to play for as they are already in the playoffs. If GRR pulls off the upset, NY can play for a home field game in the playoffs. I highly doubt GRR wins in NO as 8.5 point dogs and this game is on Saturday.

Philly only has to worry about Dallas for home field throughout the playoffs. Good news is Dallas' game is an hour after Philly's game starts so they will play the entire game to "control their own destiny".

If everything goes according to plan, Voodoo beat GRR on Saturday, Garcia gets some resting time against Philly and Philly romps the Dragons. If not, there will be a battle in NY and I like my chances with the best offense in the league.

Official Play:

Philadelphia -1 Over NY $3300 to win $3000

Guys my apologies, I meant if the upset happens in Cleveland or NO. If GRR or Columbus wins, NY is in the playoffs. They still have home field to play for so essentially this is a playoff game with Philly and NY. I like my chances with Philly.

Quick summary for all my other plays:

Cleveland will score every possession and Nagy will want to close the season strong. I think Cleveland will pop 60-70 points easy in this one to lock up a playoff spot and keep the momentum going into the playoffs.

Over 110.5 $1100 to win $1000

Arizona played herrendous at home against the Crush and still almost came back to tie the game and take it into OT. The look on their coaches face all game was disgust. You can tell he wants to close off the season right. I think the Rattlers would rather finish with a winning record than .500

Arizona +7 $1100 to win $1000

I know, I know, Chicago and Dallas have great defenses but they have great offenses too!! 7 TD's a half and I win, I will take it with these offenses any day. Lets see what happens.

Chicago/Dallas Over 97.5 $1100 to win $1000

Official Plays:

Philly -1 30 units
Arizona +7 10 units
Cleve/Colum Over 110.5 10 units

Played both AZ +7 and DAL-CHI over 97.5, and also took GR +8.5 when it first came out.

You're wrong about New York.

On Saturday if both Cleveland and New Orleans win, they're playing for their lives.

If CLEVELAND gets upset and not New Orleans, they have nothing to play for.

If BOTH get upset, they have a home game to play for.

If NEW ORLEANS gets upset and not Cleveland, then have a home game to play for.

Staying at home makes a BIG difference. There's virtually no way that the Dragons have squadoosh to play for on Sunday, and if nothing else, I think they'll take pride in making Philly sweat out the #1 seed after beating Dallas TWICE. Remember, in a game that Rohan Davey played a critical role in, the Dragons damn near BEAT Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center earlier in the season.

Oh, for the record, I hope you're right though. If Cleveland does happen to get upset by Columbus and New Orleans beats Grand Rapids, I'm as massive a Philly fan as there could be... If this scenario works out, my Predators will be rooting for Philly to give them a home game.

In the likelihood that neither New Orleans or Cleveland gets upset, the equation is simple... A NY victory and they're in, a loss and Orlando's got the last spot.

Not that it really matters because the loser is traveling to Philly/Dallas runner up and is gonna get humiliated on national television, but I have a 16 year streak of playoff appearances I'm working on here and have a standard to uphold :)

Guru, you are right, however I did correct myself. Rohan Davey, I know it sounds funny but anything can happen.

Scott, great minds think alike. I thought about GRR at 8.5 as they are playing for their playoff lives, New Orleans is just the better team and I would not be surprised if NO won by 14. I think Voodoo's defense can stop GRR but the question is how often. NO is a tuff place to place as well but 8.5 is a good number. Good luck to us and I am cheering for a GRR upset to put NY in the playoffs to assist with my Philly bet. :toast:

I just think that the GR offense is over the problems that plagued it during the mid part of the season and is playing well enough to stay within 8.5. Both teams need this one so I think both will bring everything they have, and I could not resist getting 8.5.

To be honest, the only number I would bet right now if I had to is Cle/Columbus over 111.5. I can't comment on the other numbers especially when I locked in at the numbers I got. I kind of like Arizona and Chi/Dal over, I think Philly will win and the number might end up at 4 but I do see value in the Cle/Colum total. I just don't see Colum stopping Raymond and that Glads offense. Good luck whatever you decide. :toast:

I have such a hard time betting over in Columbus games. For 1, you never know when they're gonna go on one of these 12:00 drives like they seem to once every other week or so. They run the ball more than anybody else in the AFL does. I can't trust a word out of Doug Kay's mouth since he already lied about Zwick playing "significant time" last week... Just an ugly spot.

77-30 is still an under game, and it's got everything that you're calling for in it.

On the flip side of the coin 77-37 is an over game. I think Nagy will play the entire game and Glads will score every possession IMO, and Nagy just needs to put up 40-49 points which they have done numerous times this year. Only time will tell. Agree 100% with the Kay thing, I had a gut feeling that would happen, that is why I ended up betting Columbus at +5 last week to go for the middle.
