TT22: I really never got into the deuce, though this season I'll be going to some of the Daytona Beach Thunder(birds) games, merely because basically that whole front office and coaching staff is comprised of old Predators and Preds fans that I grew up with.

I know I can't just put my email address on here, but I'll go ahead and link you up to an ArenaFan "contact me" page. It'll get you a direct email to me without me sharing what the actual address is with anyone. Really is a great system. I never check the email I give the mods anyway, but if the mods do happen to delete this, go ahead and get my email from them and post here that I have mail so I remember to go check it.

AFLGuru, I can tell that your opinion is valued here and I hope that you work everything out so that we can read your posts. I can remember 2 years ago when the lines would get posted at Pinnacle and The Greek and we would jump on them and they would move up to 7 points within a half an hour.

Hopefully we can rock the AFL again.

Didn't mean to intentionally hi-jack the thread here KC, but like I said before, I think we're better off just having a general discussion about each of the games rather than just a thread with picks in it.

Kenny, good to hear from you again. You're one of the ones that goes back longer than I (as if we're all old timers here...). Don't worry, I'm nowhere near in a gag situation like I was before, I'm just trying to bring more advertisement to my website.

If anyone is interested, there's a show tonight previewing the American Conference teams that can be found on ArenaFan. Sign up and come into the chat room on Wednesday nights at 9:00 for ArenaZone.

http://www.arenafan.com/chat is where you can find all the discussion. Just ask someone for the live radio link when you get in there.

Note: Mods, I don't believe this is against Rx policies, but if you deem it inappropriate, please don't move this to the site promotions forum. Just delete the post or edit the post and I'll stop immediately.

Great idea, why don't we talk about the season opener.

New Orleans Vs LA Avengers

What will the line be? What will the total be? Who will win this game and why? This game kicks off in 8 days. I will provide my insight once I have all of my facts and stats together. I think Avengers will be faved and should win the game straight up, big question is what is the line.

Kingdom, I would prefer we NOT discuss what point spreads should be on upcoming games.

Simple reason. Why help the linesmakers? I am a fairly sharp arena bettor, and I have made a line for this game, but why would I post it and let the linesmaker know what I am thinking? The AFL is a league where the sharps know more than the linesmakers, so why make it easy for them and tell them where the line should be? Let's not help the bookmaker out.

After the numbers come out, let's share our thoughts.

Concur, I already have my line and total for all week #1 games and this determines by bets. Only problem is after the "sharps" hit it, the line will move 3-7 points so by the time we are discussing the lines, the others will be be able to find the line. Agree with the logic of why provide free assistance to the books. Good luck and look forward to the dicussions we will conduct during the course of the season. :toast:

Yeah, general rule of thumb... wait until after the lines are posted to discuss them.

When will the lines come out for week one? This will be my first year betting Arena Football so pardon me if this is a dumbass question. I want to grab the early numbers before the line moves. Thanks in advance.

If memory serves me, Olympic came out with lines on Tuesday afternoon. Don't hold me to that... might've been Wednesday afternoon... but I know they were up well before we had ArenaZone on Wednesday nights.

You won't see any other book open up probably even the same day as Olympic unless someone comes out of left field with these lines that hasn't the past few seasons.

3 years ago Pinnacle was brave enough to open but history has it Greek opens the lines. I recall one season where they opened the lines on Monday at noon. Recently they have been popping up Tuesday at noon at the Greek. Cris, 5 Dimes and Pinnacle will wait for the sharps to flatten the line and it will appear the day after at mostly all the books. We will see what they do this year, hopefully it will be Monday but chances are they will be Tuesday.

I use bet cris for online activities. Would you recommend Olympic for another book to shop lines/ reduced juice?

Only way to catch an early line is Greek to be honest. Nothing special other than great and fast payouts and good customer service. 10% juice but they create the lines. Without them, you are betting a flat line. :toast:

Thanks for the reply. I'll take your advice and open an account at Greek. Since I know nothing about Arena Football, where is a good place to start gathering info on teams and players outside of arenafootball.com. Is there an advantage early in the season for us bettors? :toast:

There's always an advantage early in the season in every sport if you do your homework properly.

Check out ArenaFan or SportsPhan for AFL information. The team websites are also generally helpful, but not always.
