Friday 6/13
Mexico/Cameroon Over 2 -105 (1 Unit)
I watched all ofMexico's warm up games, they try there hardest to defend, but they just aren't very good at it. Not as good as creating chances, for a rather small team, they perform set pieces well, but do not defend them very well. The recent change in goalie to Guillermo Ochoa, almost solidifies to me that they will be scored on in this game. I think everybody trust Corona more, but due to his injury to the head in one of the warm up games, he'll be sitting out.
Cameroon comes in looking pretty good from the warm up games they participated into prepare. I think they are one of the rather softer African teams participating but they do have Eto'o, and as of recent we aren't on the best of terms, but hey at 39 it's hard to be that good anymore, why I ever signed you, I don't know, proves how much I trusted Fernando. Either way, both teams seem to up to the task of at least scoring 1 goal a piece, a winner comes from somewhere, 2-1 either side.
Spain -120 (2 Unit)
I really don't like taking Spain. Last world cup I remember them blowing it hard first game to Switzerland. And then the rest of the tournament they were favored by 2 goals or more and hardly covered. They manage 1-0 wins like it's the only way they know how, and for me personally a champion should have a bit more fire power than that, but as tight as the tournament was played last time around, it was justified. This cup they open with the Netherlands. One of my personal favorite players of all time in Wesley Sneijder will command the midfield, and I truly believe he is as good as he was when I coached him, wish I could say that about the rest of the team. The Dutch team this year has too many players that play in the domestic league unlike the squad they had in 2010 who were pretty much all playing at the highest level. This year they are just too old or too young. Yes the line looks juicy, and I'd rather gain + money on them through a win or a draw but I just can't do it, not against del bosque and the reigning champs. Everybody wants to say Spain is getting old too, I just want to remind everyone some of the greatest athletes did not reach there prime til early 30s. Jordan? Favre? Brady? So I won't be worried if a lot of the vets are out there. On top of all that Van Gal don't really care how the Dutch do, his ass will be in Manchester next year as I'm sure I'm on his mind plenty.
Chile -1 -145 (3 Unit)
Eduardo Vargas and Alexis Sanchez have the craziest chemistry I have ever seen. It truly is a pleasure to watch. I am writing this having not seeing the starting line ups but I'll be shocked to find out if Vargas isn't starting. I like Chile to go far. How far not sure yet, but I definitely have them getting out of the group over the Dutch. Australia is absolutely garbage in my opinion. They were the first to arrive in Brazil, probably knowing they will be one of the first teams bounced. I don't have much to say about this team, except that I think Chile is superior, especially with Vidal healthy again, I really see a 3-0 ass whooping this evening. However because of the juice I am anticipating to lay on the -1, I might jump up to -1.5. Might depend on how the first 2 games turn out.
