Mighty decides to publish a list of the best sports movies ever made which doesn't have 'Hoosiers' at No. 1 and doesn't include 'Raging Bull.' Why? We don't know. You never got me down, Mighty. You never got me down.
“Dear Mighty. I had the honor of hosting a gathering that included myself, my good friend Tom Russo Esq., and the legendary retired NYPD sergeant (and brother of MQ), Dennis (DQ) Quinn, where, over a few frosty adult beverages, we discussed, debated and decided on the five greatest sporting films of all time. We left many great films on the cutting room floor, and I know our list will ignite some cogitation, but here it is:
“1. ‘Cinderella Man’; 2. ‘The Wrestler’; 3. ‘Hoosiers’; 4. ‘Breaking Away’; 5. ‘Caddyshack’. Our Honorable Mention was ‘Pride of the Yankees’. Please know that we eliminated the original ‘Rocky’ due to the fact that it is simply the greatest film ever created in any genre. I must note that Ray Altamirano and Dave (DGB) Green were also at the gathering, but had to leave early because they woke up my wife, Samantha. Sincerely, Kirk Anderson founder of the SBA chapter of the MQFC.”
Mighty hit with the Reds Wednesday.
Thursday it’s the Tigers. The deficit is 362 sirignanos.
