My 50 Dime play is on the San Francisco Giants on the run line to beat the Colorado Rockies. Checking the sports books in Las Vegas at 7 a.m. and the Giants are -105 on the run line.
ANALYSIS
This is a case of two struggling teams, but one has postseason hopes, while the other just hopes for the season to end quickly.
For the Giants, who are struggling right now, Ryan Vogelsong starts. He has not been struggling. He has given the Giants 16 straight quality starts. Overall, he is 8-5 with a 2.22 ERA. In his last three starts, he is 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA. In his one start he lost in his last three, he lacked run support as he only gave up one run. In the no-decision, he gave up one run.
He has been giving the Giants good performances.
The question is whether the Giants can provide the offense.
In this case, they should be able to post some runs.
The Rockies start Jonathan Sanchez and he has been dreadful. Overall, his ERA is 8.32 and he is 1-8. In his last three starts, he is 0-3 with a 16.77 ERA. He has given up 18 earned runs in 9 2/3 innings pitched.
He probably will be out of the game by the fourth or fifth inning and the Giants will have to feast on the bullpen.
The combination of Vogelsong shutting down the Rockies and Sanchez opening the flood gates for the Giants’ offense, is too good a combination to pass up.
The Rockies are 2-8 in their last 10 games, but the Giants are not much better, going 3-7 in their last 10. But the Giants are legitimate contenders in the N. L. West and this is a spot for them to get healthy quickly.
Take the Giants on the run line.

So a fade based on dimes doesn't seem like a bad idea. I'm going to continue to Labby fade for the time being until I get a better feel for this fake fool. I just remember he was really bad to start the year. Wish I had continued to track him.

The White Sox start Gavin Floyd. Overall, his statistics are mediocre, going 8-9 with a 4.28 ERA. But in his last three starts, he has really picked up his game, going 2-1 with a 1.35 ERA. He has given up three earned runs in 20 1/3 innings. In his last three starts, the one game he lost, he gave up only two runs, but failed to get run support.
That should not be a problem here.
The Angels start Ervin Santana, who has been the weak link in the Angels’ rotation.
He is 5-10 with a 5.97 ERA. On the road, he is 3-4 with a 6.83 ERA. In his last three starts, it gets even worse, as he went 1-1 with a 7.81 ERA and a WHIP of 1.815. In his last three starts, he has given up 13 runs in 12 2/3 innings.
The White Sox will get to him.
Chicago has been a hot team lately, going 8-2 in its last 10 games. The Angels have cooled off a bit lately, going 2-5 in its last seven games.
Take the hotter team with the hotter pitcher.
