The nature of hardliners in any political party is massive overreach. They interpret a couple of election cycles as a mandate that "more and more people are starting to think like them." In short, hardliners always believe politics is linear rather than circular.
And so it is with our forum's two hard lefties, fratfraud and vtard... who will tell you (and themselves) over and over, that America yearns for bigger and bigger government. Anyone who rejects this radical departure from the Constitution and the American Experience in general "isn't normal"..."on the fringe"..."a nutter" etc.
