When play resumed,Melky Cabrera hit a game ending solo shot in the bottom of the 11th.

The 34 year old right-hander,has a career W/L record of 78-69.He will be stepping into Sidney Ponson's spot, in the 5 man rotation.
32 year old Abreu, brings his career BA of .301 to the Yankees.It will also be nice having last year's Gold Glove Winner in right field full-time.

Sal, I was first thinking Abreu is a bum as the Phillies fan that I am. Last year when we were in it the last month he was fairly silent. He also refused to lead off for us and that pissed me off since Rollins kills us leading off. But honestly he shouldn't lead of because he is too good a hitter and rbi guy to lead off. Our team just wasn't right. In Phillie guys don't make 15 million without being superstars. We loved him once but swayed to loving Utley, and Howard. He wasn't worth the cash to us but theres not much hope the money will be spent on a star next year. He will be perfect for your team though now that I have thought about it. He covers the plate and hits to all sides and works the pitchers and walks too. Hes not real fast but not slow either and can steal a base and score from second. I really think He will be clutch in the Playoffs if Yanks get there when the pitching is better and runs harder to come by. As far as Liddle, Hes not really that bad and with a little run support can help your team. Pitching here is almost like being in the AL anyway. Both players are good guys and good teammates without attitudes or off the field problems.
I know we got robbed to dump the big contract but do you have any insight into the young players the phillies got. I have been looking around and there is nut much info which doesnt bode well for us Philly fans.

And Yes Walton used come around all the time to the Gyms in Cambridge. He used to swat my shit all night long and then stick 25 footers on me knowing I was giving him cushion. He can really shoot from the outside if squared up. Those were the days.
