Maybe you aren’t understanding.... QBs who consistently stay in the pocket are more likely to get hurt than those who run a lot.

I think everytime Rodgers was hurt it was from in the pocket. Everytime stafford gets hurt it’s in the pocket. When Brady blew out his knee....in the pocket. The list goes on. RG3 was reckless. But I forget where he got hurt originally...I know haolti ngata fucked him up though

Just off the top of my head, anthony barr broke rodgers collarbone as he ran outside of the pocket looking to throw.

And if a pocket QBs blows out his knee, it’s not the same as a running QB.

Running backs that move out of the pocket get injured all the time. Thats what Lamar is looking at in the near future

key word “looking to throw.”

he wasn’t looking to run was he?

technically out of the pocket....But never was looking to really run. Behind the line of scrimmage is in the pocket to me as far as injuries go. Because they’re still looking to throw.

They are trying to limit injuries to the QB in the pocket....which is why they implemented a new rule that says you can’t force your body weight down on the QB. That’s how Rodgers got hurt. Aaron rodgers could sneeze and break his collarbone though. Most of the time that happens inside the pocket and behind the line of scrimmage because 99% of qbs attempt to slide or get out of bounds when on the run.

The one that comes to mind for me is Joe Flacco/Kiko Alonso. Flacco was on the run and slid and got his head taken off...But Kiko Alonso is one dirty football player.

You didnt state what the quarterback was trying to accomplish in the statement you made saying rodgers has only been hurt while in the pocket. Thats not a fact, which is the point i was making. I just pointed something out and your trying to argue symantics now. Reread your statement bonehead

Lol. Technically you are correct. But what are we talking about? A black Qb that runs, right? It’s a misconception that they get hurt a lot when running. In the pocket/behind the line of scrimmage is the same thing to me regarding this conversation because it’s clear what we are talking about....QBs who run and get hurt while running. Or so I thought it was clear what we were talking about.

This isn’t a topic on where the tackle box is. If you are behind the line of scrimmage trying to throw it....that’s the same as being in the pocket for the purpose of this discussion. QBs are more susceptible to being hurt behind the line of scrimmage than they are scrambling for yards. Clear now?

You can twist it however you want to make your position right in your mind. You made point trying to lead me to believe the pocket isnt as safe as it seems and pointed out injuries that happen inside the pocket. Now since I pointed out an example that contradicted what you said you change up your dialect and work a different angle. Personally I think the chances are higher with a running QB. Maybe not by much, injuries happen everywhere there not a safe place in the field, but theyre subjected to more hits so theyre gonna get injured more based on probability. If you dont see that your a fool to think a QB who gets hit more isnt more likely to get hurt. Yeah were "clear" ya jackass

You were absolutely 100% correct in your responses.

The pocket is the area of protection in the backfield provided by the offensive linemen for the quarterback when he drops back to pass the ball. This area is also referred to as the tackle box.

The entire point of the misconception is that black QBs aka running QBs don’t last in the league. That’s the basis of your guys argument. But you bringing up a QB getting hurt behind the line of scrimmage just strengthens my point lmfao. It would’ve been smarter to maybe mention a time where a qb got hurt when running......for yards lol.

Who needs what spelled out for who here?

Before it was “he can’t throw. He can’t read defenses. He’s not smart enough.”

After Lamar proved all of that false and all of you incorrect.....now it’s “ yeah but he hasn’t won a Super Bowl...that’s what we said, black QBs don’t win superbowls.” And now.....”But he’s going to get hurt. Just wait. These guys always get hurt.”

This is a sports gambling website, not a BBC sucking convention. Fuck off already with the Lamar Jackson bullshit.

I'm not backing off what I've said about Lamar. When or if he wins postseason games we can revisit this conversation. shilling for MVP awards mean nothing to me..

Yeah even though that was pretty much non contact. But how about the one that fits the bill though.....RG3 when Ngata sat on top of him. Fucked up his knee. They rushed him back and we know the story after that. Lamar knows RG3s dominance came to an end like that...he’s his backup. Good person to learn from it. RG3 also let the fame get to his head....Dont worry I am confident Lamar is not a flash in the pan and he will make the kkk klan here cry for many many years

This isn’t a short-term discussion like you’re making it out to be though. You can’t crown the guy after beating the Bengals. It’s a long-term thread that will be revisited throughout a potential playoff run.
