I had just started collecting in 1984, perfect timing with topps rookie cards like Marino, Elway, & co.

But right after than came Pro Set.

Beautiful cards but little did anyone know helping the beginning of overproduction, haha.

Score was thougth to be less limited, with the Barry Sanders rookie, but many years later we all found out that those were even cranked out on the presses as well......

I like inserted cards autographed trading cards right out of the pack because there's not doubt they are authentic.

I just don't have the same feeling or trust for signed merchandise bought elsewhere.

But, I know where you're coming from kidman, it's cool to have that stuff hanging around to give you a sports feeling atmosphere....:103631605

85 Donruss Eric Davis, one of the most wanted cards of the 80's.

I collected (and stole many cards) growing up. When I was in High School Walmart actually let you bring your duffle bag in and put a little pink sticker on it like that was going to stop you from putting shit in it?

89 Donruss I had about 200 of every good player (what a shitty year to stock up).

Remember when card shows were a big deal and they had them like every other weekend?

I started to get out once grading started happening. The whole numbered thing was cool for awhile (especially the 1 of 1 cards) but when everyone started doing it, it got too expensive. I had guys trying to collect every card of their favorite player. That became impossible once there were 200 of each player every year.
