There is a reason why Texas is steamrolling teams this season. Not only is their offense productive and experienced, but their defense is better than it has been in years posting the #3 total defense ranking in the country. Teams are averaging just 238 yards of total offense per game against this stop unit. How is A&M going to score against this defense? The closest A&M has seen to this good of a defense would have been against Oklahoma, and they only mustered 10 points in that game. And Oklahoma is not even a top 10 defense.
Now, let's flip the switch and take a look at A&M's defense. Folks, this is a unit that ranks #100 in total defense in the nation. A defense that gives up 416 YPG and an average of 32 PPG. How do you think this is going to go here with Colt McCoy coming to town looking to secure a National Title bid in the next few weeks? Colt McCoy is beginning to air it out, and Texas is becoming more explosive as it storms ahead toward the national championship game. Completions of 68, 41 and 38 yards against Kansas showed off the vertical potential Texas lacked earlier in the season. The long connections, as well as a screen the Longhorns broke for 34 yards, contributed to a 51-20 rout last week
Bottom Line, with the way this Texas team has been playing we expect nothing short of a stellar performance against a very questionable A&M squad. You have to remember, this is an Aggies team that has lost by 28, 48, and 55 points to potent offenses already this season.
We look for Texas to run away with this thing early and never look back. Every game for this team including this one is the next step to a national title and this team wants no part of the disappointment from last season. What this means is style points and we expect a lot of them on Thanksgiving night in the prime time spotlight.
Look for Texas to lay a whooping on the Aggies and certainly cover the large impost.
