This reminds me of what happened in 1978 when USC went to Alabama and won, finished with the same record as Alabama, and split the title.

Clueless....

Texas Tech losses? Oh yeah they have a loss that was invisible.

Texas Tech dominated Texas & should have beaten them by more. Texas was lucky to even have a shot late in the game.

Neutral ground my ass, the game is played in Texas! They won due to shoddy officiating period!

USC > everyone else, their track record proves it

Please gives us a reason why USC would beat everybody THIS YEAR?
Stop giving us games from 5 years ago and give us something we can say about THIS TEAM that would beat THIS OU team or texas team.

USC has the most NFL talent? yes, do they have the best TEAM? no. Not this year.

This is a complete and utter crime.

Any non-partisan CFB fan MUST DEMAND to know which coaches voted OU first place over Alabama.

If that LOSER Mike Stoops turns out to be one of them, there should be an investigation.

Every coach, media outlet, and writer KNEW that this was going to come down to a HUMAN VOTE, so who in their RIGHT MIND and GOOD CONSCIENCE could give one-loss OU a first place vote over undefeated, SEC Alabama?

Alabama needed to be a consensus #1 on every coaches' ballot and then UT and OU needed to battle out for the 2nd and 3rd place votes, period. This is the only right and fair way it could've been decided, but two coaches decided to SCREW the entire system and fans.

WHO ARE THESE TWO COACHES?

Complete garbage post. OU got screwed by the human polls, but it wasn't enough to overcome the computer polls. Quit your fucking crying.

Here are a couple of points:

- USA Today Coaches Poll
OU this week had 1,397 points (OU lost 15 points)
OU last week had 1,412 points

Texas this week had 1,396 points (Texas gained 26 points)
Texas last week had 1,370 points

- The Coaches Poll had an obvious shift in it that made no sense. For one OU's lead last week was bigger in this poll than the Harris Poll. They had a 42 point lead last week over Texas and it went down to 1 point.

- Texas beats the worst team in the Big 12 South by 40 at home and gains 26 points vs. the prior week. The same team OU beat by 38 at A&M. They beat a top 12 team on the road by 20 and lose 15 points vs. the previous week.

- Every team in the USA Coaches Poll top 10 increased their point totals (or did not lose points) vs. last week except OU and Florida.

Alabama (+3 points) - No real change and understandable since they beat Auburn.
OU (-15 points) - Only one of two top teams to play a top 20 ranked team this week on the road. OU won by 20 and lost points.
Texas (+26 points) - Beat the worst team in the Big 12 south at home and had the 2nd biggest jump in the top 10.
Florida (-16 points) - The only other top team to play a top 20 ranked team this week on the road. Florida won by 30 and lost points.
USC (+10 points) - Beat un-ranked Notre Dame at home.
Penn State (+19 points) - Did not even play and moved up 19 points.
Utah (+0 points) - No change and did not play.
Texas Tech (+33 points) - Came from behind to beat Baylor at home by 7 points and gained more than any other top 10 team.
Boise State (+11 points) - Beat a 7-5 Fresno State team at home.
Ohio State (+5 points) - Did not play and moved up 5 points.
So the only two teams in the top 10 that had impressive road wins over ranked teams LOST points this week. In fact every team in the top 10 gained points (besides Utah who stayed the same) except for Florida and OU.

So it seems obvious to me that the Coaches that voted OU and Florida 2nd and 3rd last week probably pretty much did the same again this week. But a small group of coaches (probably 5 to 6) not only kept Texas in front of OU and probably Florida but then moved these two teams down to the 6 to 10 range to try to give Texas as much of a chance to keep their lead as possible. That is really the only explanation for those two teams to have lost points.

The other thing to keep in mind is that this was the last non-public Coach's poll. Next weeks will be public. So if they were going to do something it was going to be this week.

So the bottom line is with the Texas media machine in full effect and a few coaches actively trying to sabotage OU, they have to win big against Missouri in order to get to the BCS title game.<!-- / message -->
