So I'm gonna throw money down that the "sham" is tmader! Clearly he is the bigger sham.

In his defense, I believe he started an eating crow thread around halftime discussing how wrong he was with this particular matchup.

Guess those power ratings that had A&M even with S Caro knew something that the returning starters crew did not? Like the dropoff between Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson was > than Johnny Football to Kenny Hill. Also, maybe the OBC's time as an offensive guru has passed?
I've said from the beginning on here that I thought SC losing Shaw was just as bad if not worse than A$M losing Manziel. Shaw was a winner. He knew how to get things done. It's much easier to fill a system offense at QB when you've got 4 or 5 star talent waiting in line to take their place than it is an offense at SC. Plus an A$M OL with 89 starts never hurts.

dude was an asshole for the better part of 10 days discussing this game. he wouldn't listen to linebets, winone, or anyone else that was skeptical of USCe or positive about aTm... not to mention the abrasive style he went about chastising other people's opinions. i have no time for people like that (btw not sure where the crow eating took place...never saw it)

i said a month ago i wasnt at all sold on dylan thompson. his SEC media days interviews showed him to be a cocky prick with nothing to substantiate that bravado. http://www.therxforum.com/showthread.php?t=994138 (gotta love post #14 in that link, btw....too funny)

then again he wasn't nearly as bad as their defense...

aTm was incredibly impressive and now gives me one more game to worry about on my schedule. damn

Thompson didn't play all that bad. First, Hill had a career day for his first start, he's now a 20:1 shot by Sportsbook to win the Heisman. I have more than one word to say about South Carolina, but the first and foremost that comes to mind is CLOWNEY! Half of their D plays last night, they had no clue where to line up, I've never witnessed so much uncertainty and ineptness in my life. So I'm horribly wrong a game, but there were so many unknowns which is why I normally wait until Week 3 to play. My biggest mistake in this game was not waiting until yesterday afternoon to wager as every consensus I looked at was Carolina but the two books I bet at were dropping the line. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that out. I'm 0-1 with the Under 57+ in the Dawgs/Tigers game pending. GLTA

Rolltide and I have both talked on here about how important recruiting is to success. Texas A&M's recruiting classes for the last 3 years has been ranked by Rivals #15, #6 & #5. And they've already got the #5 class for 2015. Better than South Carolina. So the Aggies aren't going away as long as Sumlin is there. The first thing I always look at, especially in handicapping two top 25 teams playing each other is who has the most talent, and how many points are they giving/getting. A&M getting 10 points automatically raised red flags with me, even though they were replacing some key skill players. Never underestimate the talent edge. It should ALWAYS figure into your capping.

I agree. I mentioned in my thread one of the main reasons I was on A&M was because their recruiting resume more closely resembles an Alabama or LSU than even a Florida or Georgia does, certainly superior to South Carolina on that front. I really like those four young wideouts at A&M, especially going against a suspect SC secondary. I'll admit, even though I was on A&M, I was expecting a close, hard fought game. I didn't see the rout coming and I'd venture to say A&M won't see that porous of secondary play in conference the remainder of the season.

Outside of recruiting, the line of scrimmage is key for me and A&M has an outstanding offensive line, one which will be a bear for even the most talented SEC defensive fronts. Not so much on the defensive line, but I still expect the defense to be improved compared to last season, I guess that isn't saying much, because they really couldn't be much worse.

I'm on cloud 9, season starting, went 3-0 last night with one miraculous, undeserved cover in Tulsa and my Owls actually won, won big and showed some promise, which is a rarity. I'll take it while it lasts, however brief.

Gentleman, best of luck to your teams and with your action.

ASS RAPING. Plain and simple.

Secondary for SoCar was hot garbage. Linebackers (a supposed strength of this team) looked lost as shit most of the game. Upper classmen arguing, pointing fingers. Bad angles on tackling. Even when they did take good angles they tackled like a monkey fucking a football.

Thompson wasn't great. Missed a bunch of big TEs high. Pass blocking was solid. Run blocking was mediocre. Even when Thompson had plenty of time, WRs couldn't get separation. At least a few times Thompson rolled out right and EVERY receiver was flooded to the left. Guys couldn't break off routes. It was a hot mess everywhere.

That new 3-4 package that was going to generate pressure didn't do shit. SoCar has a lot of growing up to do and some big coaching decisions to make. I was confident the SC offense could carry the defense for a while. But not if they play like they did last night. Just piss fucking poor garbage. Hey, at least I didn't lose any money on this game.

Linebets,

Yall looked dynamite tonight. Very impressive to come into SC and mop the floor with them. Aggie nation should be on cloud 9 ready to play a brutal west schedule! GL brother!

Thanks Alba. I was very impressed with both sides of the ball. Armani Watts showed last night why he got the start as a true freshman. Happy I was right about actually having a pass rush. Besides the 2 terrible missed assignments letting the WR go wide open down the field, I was impressed. I thought the offensive production would drop a little, but wouldnt have guessed it would end up like this. So many choices at WR and the 3 running back tandem helps Kenny. The OL allowed him to get comfortable (which I tried telling people was as good as ever) and he was able to do work.

Should've fired Whammy a long time ago. Will never get better until we do. Should've let Ellis Johnson retire in SC like he wanted in the first place. Th growing up falls on the Coaches as well. They knew before last night this D was garbage.

I am not embarrassed to be a Gamecock fan, but I am totally embarrassed by that poor performance.

ECU is no pushover, they will pass a plenty and hurry the game up just the same.

I didn't get to make it to the forum much this off season due to other life events and really wasnt able to follow what was going on in college football. The only thing i was really able to do was read through "SEC notebook" and basically everything going on with football at A&M. I tried to offer advice, but I guess since I'm not one of the "big boys" it was just dismissed... oh well

Give me a break. Aggies will be lucky to go bowling this year. Mark my words. They have 4 absolute layup cupcake games but might not win an SEC game.

I like the link back to that thread, haha. I wish JB would have responded back about being lucky to make a 6 win season.

A&M was quite impressive last night. Hats off to them.

Not only did they go ahead and get that 1st SEC win of the year, they also broke the Nation's longest Home winning streak. No easy task in the WB.

If Hill continues to hit his mark, those Monster WR's could put a world of hurt on the upcoming opponents.

I look forward to paying a little more attention to them the rest of the Season and seeing if they can continue to grow into what could be a National Title Run.

Got to disagree with you on that, respectfully of course. But I think we've discussed him before. I like Whammy and think he's a damn good DC. I've always liked his ability to adjust. BUT, last night was the first and only time I didn't see Whammy make necessary halftime adjustments. Last year his adjustments at the half were phenomenal. Just look at the second half scoring against the defense last year. Damn last night was painful. But oh well. I'm not letting it ruin my weekend of sitting on my ass watching wall to wall football and drinking 87 Busch Lights.

ERock your note about the A&M offensive line was why I took them. So 2 yr ago they had a first rounder and second rounder, then last year they had a top 10 OL pick. But they've continued to recruit well and this year they have 3 guys (all young) that are projected to be 1st rounders by NFL guys. By having this type of protection, it gives a QB like Hill time to go through his progressions. As i stated in many threads at the end of last season, this team is going to be a better offensive because as great as Manziel was, he was a 1 read guy who if Evans was not open, he'd take off and run. What we all saw last night was Hill moving around in the pocket and looking for his 1st, then 2nd and even 3rd options. Heck they even mentioned the presence of a TE which Manziel did not like so last year they didnt go to any TE sets. That's how this offense is designed to work and it starts with the protection he gets from the OL. It'll be interesting to see how SEC defenses scheme him once they get enough tape on him.
