Dmitry Tursunov vs Sebastien Grosjean

My pick is Dmitry Tursunov to win

10 units to win 6.5 units at betfair

Preview by andre

Dmitry Tursunov is having a wonderful week in Sydney. After defeating the Doha finalist Stanislas Wawrinka in straight sets in the first round, the Russian player defeated the number one seed Richard Gasquet in the second round, showing why he is called the French killer (9-1 vs French players in the last two years). Tursunov is a very talented ball basher and when he is confident and being consistent, it's very hard to stop him on a fast surface like this one. Tursunov likes the conditions in here and he has no problems in facing good returners, like he has showed yesterday against Gasquet.

Sebastien Grosjean is having a nice beginning of season, but Tursunov will be just too much for him. Grosjean is still a good returner, but his movement isn't the same it was five years ago and recent losses on fast surfaces against Marat Safin, Jose Acasuso and Benjamin Becker show that Grosjean is having a lot of problems in facing players that hit the ball on a very powerful way, not giving him time to return them in good conditions. Grosjean's serve is also attackable and Tursunov should have no problems in winning at least 50% of the points played on Grosjean's second serve.

Tursunov is a horrible matchup for Grosjean nowadays, as the French player can't move that well on the court anymore. Tursunov is confident and hitting the ball very well, something that should be more than enough to defeat Grosjean today.

Heineken Open Doubles

Start time : 8:00PM (EST)

L.Horna/J.Monaco vs F.Cermak/L.Zovko

My pick is F.Cermak/L.Zovko to win

3.5 units to win 2.5 units at 5dimes ( gotta love 250 $ limits there )

Cermak is by far the best doubles player in this match . Monaco has a terrible 2 vs 2 record with 14 wins and 35 losses and his partner isnt much better either . They entered 2 vs 2 just to get some extra cash while their opponents both only play doubles and thats how they make money playing tennis . Monaco also has to play singles today against Kohlschreiber and he sure will be more focused to win that match .

Monaco holds a 2-0 hd2hd adavantage over Kohlschreiber but both of those encounters were on clay. The Argentine was able to withstand the big serving of Llodra and will find the Kohlschreiber delivery a lot easier to cope with here. Monaco is more than capable from both wings and has very good movement around the court. Kohlschreiber has had a good week but will find his opponents shot making a lot better than that of Mayer who he beat in the previous round, I expect the Germans run to come to an end here.

Juan Carlos Ferrero (ESP) vs Julien Benneteau (FRA)

My pick is Julien Benneteau to win

20 units to win 30 units at pinnaclesports

and

Handicap

My pick is Julien Benneteau + 2.5 games

11.7 units to win 10 units -117 at pinnaclesports

First time I bet so big on an underdog . I feel very strong about this play tho. I have a feeling Ferrero is more interested in better results at Australian Open and his opponent from France should be much more motivated because he probably has no hope for a run at Australian Open and will try to get as far a possible in this tournament . The way he played in this tournament I see a much better chance for his win than the odds suggest .

Preview by bullet

Both prior meetings have gone the distance resulting in a win a piece. Benneteau has had a terrific week with victories over Ferrer, Almagro and Sela. The Frenchman was on court an hour and a half less than rival Ferrero yesterday and there is a possibility that could give him an advantage. Benneteau dropped just 9 points on serve against Ferrer, which is a great stat against a player that returns as well as Ferrer. Ferrero had to work hard to overcome Chilean Massu in the last round in a match that had eight service breaks .

I need it , Monaco fkn didnt show up to play today , what a clown .
Got 350 $ riding against him and Horna in doubles , odds dropped against them from -140 to -230 haha .

Benneteau is playing better than Moskito but he gotta convert his chances .

Haha, what a huge price drop.

Yeah, Benne is playing very well. I'm hoping JCF gets tired out after those three sets yesterday. Him and Massu were getting into gruelling 20 shot rallies all the time.

From out of nowhere, Ferrero is on fire. That backhand up the line to break was incredible. And then he closes the set out with an ace...

Their previous two matches went three sets. Hopefully Benneteau can regroup.

Missed the Monaco match, but losing 6-2, 6-2. He must have tanked after going a break down, as he's usually a real fighter.

Look at Ferrer getting bagelled yesterday...

That would be great.

You can still make it. Enter some futures events, get into the challengers, and once you get to Sopot or a few other ATP tournaments I'll be sure to bet a load against you.

I'll give you 10%!
