Casey Dellacqua vs Ana Isabel Medina Garrigues

My pick is Casey Dellacqua +108 at betfair and 5dimes 15 units

This is crazy , Ana Isabel got no business to be favoured against Casey in this spot even as a slight fav . If you plan to bet on this match I would recommend to do it now before people pound it and Caseys odds drop to below +100 .

Match preview by andre

Casey Dellacqua started last Summer to fulfill her potential. After a challenger win in the USA, she had a good run in the Asian tournaments in the Autumn and last week, she forced Nicole Vaidisova to a third set, after a great exhibition of Dellacqua on her country. This week she continues to play on her country, this time on Hobart. The Australian player use to have a big advantage over her opponents, as the weather conditions in this country are always tough and her opponents will always struggle with the heat, while they are used to it. Dellacqua is confident right now and her powerful strokes can rip almost every player in the circuit apart. Her serve is improving and the crowd on her side, she has a good chance to have a good week in here.

Anabel Medina Garrigues is a very good claycourt, who struggles to play well outside clay on a consistent way. She went 12-18 last season outside clay, with some losses against players with a ranking way lower than Dellacqua. An interesting fact is that Medina Garrigues in 0-7 outside clay against Top 100 players playing on their homecountry, just like it is the case of today's game. Medina took a set off Davenport last week, but that was just thanks to a bad moment of the American player, as after she regrouped she easily destroyed Medina by 6:0 in the third set.

Sigh , robbed me for a nice amount of $$$ .

Casey was leading with 5-4 in the first set when her opponents decided to retire . I dont have a doubt Casey would win this match and it sux when somebody retires without completing the set .

First set rule with both bookies so I dont win anything , just get my money back .

Thats what I figured. Saw to when Nadal lost to him it was always on a hard surface so I faded Nadal at +200. Nice win.

I should look more into betting these sports.........I'm just really tired of phoney holding penalties, phony flags, and referees deciding games.

What do you look for when you cap Tennis?

Jurgen Melzer vs Werner Eschauer ( Set betting )

My pick is Jurgen Melzer 2:0 win

4 units to win 4.4 units +110 at betfair

Match is starting soon so no time for a real preview . Eschauer played 3 matches on hard courts in almost 4 years . Think this is enough said :103631605

Well , they still didnt start even tho that match was scheduled for 6.15 PM . Not sure when it is going to start as all bookies had that start time but maybe they will start soon .

Both players had the benefit of blowing away the cobwebs in Chennai last week, Eschauer earning a rare victory away from clay and even managing to take a set in the second round. Melzer won the only meeting between them but it took place over 7 years ago. Melzer has the better pedigree on hard courts and that should be enough to gain a victory today in straight sets .

DOKIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCC

She will be playing Martina Muller who had 4-12 record on hard courts last season and has an overall 37-61 record on hard courts .
I am about to wager 100 units on the babe at a bookie where you have to complete the whole match for the bets to stand just in case ...

Anybody think Muller can beat her ? I am sure will be rooting for the hottie

My pick was JELENA DOKIC to win

Jelena started out really well , never even had a deuce on her serve in ths first set . Second set it was obvious that she was getting tired and she was baggeled by Martina . Third set didnt start well at all either with 2 : 0 lead and serve for the german . After that Jelena got her chit together and won 6 games in a row !

Win + 50 units !!!

RTD : 28-23 + 27.25 units

I have few very strong picks today with another GOY for 100 units . Gonna post it in 10 minutes .

Jelena Dokic Flavia Pennetta

My pick is Flavia Pennetta to win 1.38 bet placed at various bookies ( gamebookers , betfair , betandwin , 5dimes ) 100 UNITS

Yes you got it right I am betting 100 units on this match and no this is not 100 $ and not 1.000 $ either .

For a large bet like this I will have to write some arguments here to explain why I am so sure about this match .

One can argue that Flavia is a clay court specialist and is not much of a player on hard courts .

Her stats on hard courts is pretty solid . From end of September and in October 2007 she made 2 semis and won a tournament in Bangkok beating Shahar Peer and Venus Williams on road to that victory which should mean something . All tournaments were played on hard courts .

Today Flavia has to play the hottie from Australia Jelena Dokic who has played 2 matches in 3 years before this tournaments coming back from a retirement . She looked solid in Qualifying rounds however yesterday she showed signs of tiredness against Martina Muller from Germany who has nothing to do on hard courts . Jelena won first set 6:4 not facing a single breakpoint and not even one game going to deuce on her own serve . Second set however was a real nightmare for Jelena which she lost 6-0 . Third set didnt start well for her either being broken on her first serve and giving the german 2:0 lead on her own serve . Dokic gave everything she had and broke Martinas serve for 1-2* after that she won every game in third set for 6-4 0-6 6-2 win over a clay court player from Germany who had 4-12 record on hard courts last season .

Here is some interesting information I have for you .

HOBART, Australia (AFP) - Australian Jelena Dokic claimed her first significant tour victory in almost three years, beating Germany's Martina Muller in the first round at the Hobart International here Monday.

Dokic, the former world number four, beat 54th-ranked Muller 6-4, 0-6, 6-2 and could face a potential dilemma less than a week from the start of next week's Australian Open.
Dokic is on the comeback trail after more than two years out with injury and off-court problems.
But Tennis Australia officials declined to offer Dokic a wildcard into the main draw of the first grand slam tournament of the year, with women's qualifying to start on Thursday.
Dokic is scheduled to play Italian Flavia Pennetta here on Tuesday and if she wins she must decide between continuing to play in Hobart or heading to Melbourne to try and grab a place in the Australian Open.
After the match Dokic put the lapse down to tiredness. “I was getting tired in the match, it was a little bit hot out there and I’ve only played three matches.
“For me, coming off two years lay-off, it’s physically and mentally hard to keep going each day and that’s why I lost the second set.”

BEFORE THAT MATCH YESTERDAY

JELENA Dokic has been forced to reassess her goals for the 2008 season after her second successive win over a top 100 player.
She won through to the main draw of the Hobart International tennis tournament with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Russian Yaroslava Shvedova yesterday.

Shvedova ended the 2007 season with a world ranking of No. 89.

Dokic will now play her first main draw for two years when she takes on Germany's Martina Muller today.

Dokic said she surprised herself with how well she had been playing.

"It was not my plan to get this far," she said.

"I think I have played well in all my matches and stepped it up when I needed to."

Dokic said her original aim this year was to crack the world top 50, but she may need to reassess that goal.

"My first goal was to be in the top 50, which is not easy, but we will have to wait and see now," she said.

"I am not really focusing on this tournament and still just taking it one match at a time."

Yesterday's match was played in windy conditions, which made serving difficult for both players.

Dokic landed 55 per cent of her serves in play, compared with 49 per cent for Shvedova.

Both players served five aces, while Dokic also had eight double-faults compared with her opponent's five.

Dokic said she was thrilled with the way her hard fitness work over the past few months was starting to pay off.

"My fitness is getting better through playing matches and that's what I need to do," she said.
