agaisnt the best defensive player in the game, he's going to be forced to hit so many extra balls--really unfortunate this rain has done this to Novak. BUT NADAL has had to do the same and he made quick work of Tomas.

His stratgey better be GO FOR IT---go for his shots, whenever he sees daylight of course

gotta see this line

My last bet to the Wimbledon is Rafael Nadal +515 with small stakes to beat Roger Federer. Last year the same players were in the final and Roger was better 3-1 sets. The first set was 6-0 for Roger, next two were tiebreaks, one for both and the last set one break for Roger...game over. Roger was then the best player on the grass and still is. He has had no problems to get this far when Nadal had big problems with Soderling and Youzhny. Somebody says Berdych was not himself but I thought afterwards that Nadal figured out something from Youzhny's game when Youzhny was injured and used that to Berdych when these two players have similar weapons. The grazy thing imo is that Nadal's odds are bigger this year than they were last year in this similar situation. Roger has got this year some surprising losses and has suffered minor injuries and I think he is not at least much better than he was last year. On the other way Rafael has made the same progress on the grass this year than he did last year...amazing freak. His serve is a bit more powerfull and more accurate compared to last year and he has got some practise to read big servers on the grass and has managed to suit his game to windy conditions. Federer has no much weakness, maby his backhand and bad nerves when somebody is always hitting the ball back, it makes him to make errors. I think Rogers gameplan will be to come to the net and keep the ballrallies short. Rafael has also gotten some netskills but Roger is so much better in this. The center court is in pretty bad shape from the baseline and ball makes much wrong jumps and Rafael has more deepness in his hits so this might be his advantage. Roger has played much more on the centercourt so he is like in his home on that but that is not a great deal. Roger's maby the best weapon has been his first serve. Ferrero and Gasquet had huge problems to read that and that will be Rafael's biggest problem too when that has been a lack of ability for him before but he is developing all the time. If Roger serves his first serves in with a big percentage this match might be easy for Roger but if he has to use much his second serves Nadal can use that for his advantage. There was a time against Ferrero when Roger struggled with his first serve and Ferrero used that very well for his advantage, two breaks and couple breakpoints with no break. Federer has not showed his best yet but on the other hand there has not yet been serious need for that. Of course both players are mentally strong but Nadal does not always know what losing means so the question is how Roger's head will last if Nadal keeps this match close. Rogers last loss on the grass was 2002 for Mario Ancic and after that he has only had 3-0 and 3-1 wins. That makes him the only favourite of the match but as said...this freak does not know how to lose.

I think Fed wins this. As much as I respect Nadal, and acknowledge that he's done well to get this far, he's been lucky with Youzhny getting injured, and Nole retiring. Fed is serving brilliantly, and he won't be looking to change his game/be more defensive as he does on clay against Rafa.

Good luck Levi...

Completely forgot to post after the match...

You were very unlucky with the pick. Nadal played alot better than I expected. He was brilliant. That was a really classic match, definitely one of the best I've ever seen. Fed's serve proved to be decisive at the really critical moments.

That really was some great match. I never believed Nadal would be able to give such a performance. It looked sad for Roger when Nadal dominated the fourth set and had breakpoints in the last set but for once Roger did what champion should do. Gathered himself and kept his head cool. Nadal's development is something what you can not describe with words. It is like what Roger said after the match as a joke, something like this: "It is good to win now when I still can win before Nadal wins everything". It would have not been wrong if Nadal had won this match but respect for both players. Five wins in row at same GS is something what you will not do everyday no matter how good or bad your opponents are and no matter if you like the player or not....:aktion033 for Roger.

Yeah, I have not done much work for analysing the matches so I have made no writes. Have been a great week to fade some favourites who has had bad performances or injuries recently. My luckiest bet was the last tennisgame of the day between Berrer and Dick. I watched the odds just before the game because I was betting earlier Bastad and Gstaad and not watched yet Newport matches. I could not believe my eyes, Dick -200 and no injuries as far as I know so fastly a decent bet against him. Then I came back to the computer and Dick had a break lead and winning the first set. I was like damn, it looked too good but when I opened Betfair window I realised I had watched the odds wrong way, it was Berrer -200 at the start so I had made a bet against him :missingte...after that I thought this is just grazy, who cares, I got a gift and I will use the gift. I jumped on Berrer after the first set and after Berrer won the second set I jumped on Dick and Dick won...grazy things happens :missingte. This same situation has happened once before for me. It was two years ago when made a under bet in NBA and after the match had started I realised I had made a bet for over but then the match ended under.

Then there was that supposed fixed match between Volandri and Schukin. Volandri's odds dropped from -500 to -3300 before the game started and after Schukin won the first set Volandri's odds were -330 :missingte. I do not usually bet on matches where is rumours of fixing but I just had to try Schukin with such odds and never greened out. Volandri won that, anybody has better information why the odds were like they were?

I should have now more time to watch tomorrow's matches and already have one game for thursday. Amritraj +110 over Jenkins with medium stakes. I remember Scoville being a big promise, still young, and he has a very good serve. His first appearance in men's ATP was at US Open 2004 when he got a wild card but unluckily his first opponent was Andy Roddick and there was no much what Scoville could do for Andy's serves. 2005 at New Haven he got a big win over Nieminen after losing the first set. After that he has had a low profile. I checked his injuries what might explain his low profile a bit, right wrist 2005, abdominal virus 2005 and back muscle 2006. At the first round he won Bracciali what was not a big surprise with his serve and when Bracciali has had a very bad season and no signs of better. Maby a slight surprise was how effectively he won, 6-1, 6-2. Of course Scoville has his chances now when tour goes to the US and he has had promising results from challengers but nothing big. Amritraj is a bit like Qureshi who's game suits for grass well but he is not a big name. I have not seen Amritraj playing but he has recently have some success in Indian championchip? on hard. Many wins what should give him more selfconfidence and from qualies to the tournament is always nice but no really hard opponents so far. The players have actually met each others once 2004 when -83 born Amritraj won Scoville, born 86, 7-6, 6-2 on the hardcourt at US.

:pope::pope:Great return to the tennis!! I love when that shit happens.

The odds on Volandri/Schukin were amazing! Crazy movement. I'm pretty sure more money was traded on that match than most at Wimbledon. Over £175,000 on Pippo at 1.07 BEFORE THE MATCH!!! That's probably more money than the 2nd round matches put together. I'm not sure if it was a fix or whether a few people were looking to manipulate the market. Funny thing was reading the Betfair forum, and all the crazy conspiracy theories. :missingte

One of the few other times where I suspected a fix was reading a thread here about the worst beats. I tried to search for it but couldn't find it. Some guy bet on the NBA game between Toronto and Memphis. The line was set at Toronto -8. There were 6 minutes left and Toronto were leading 94 - 69. Memphis scored 18 UNANSWERED points, to end the match 94 - 87, and the guy lost by one point! :missingte

Good luck with the Jenkins play!

Betfair forum offers usually good information about matches but it feels like there is conspiracy theories after every match :missingte.

There surely is much fixed matches in tennis, maby more than in other sports, but it is always hard to tell what is and what is not. Of course there is a famous mafia but some low atp ranked players are having good oppurtunities to earn some money and I have heard some rumours that somebody has threatened to do something for the family of the player if he is not going to lose the game and stuff like that.

I remember that Toronto Memphis match and I do not know if that Toronto match was fixed or not because they had such a big lead and maby the team was tired because they had a game at Washington previous night but still no scores in the last six minutes.

One fixed match which I remember and what surely was a fixed match was Haka Allianssi in finnish football. Allianssi just had a new foreign owner and he did not like how the team was playing so he fired the coach and brought six new belgian players which included a goalie. The players had not played for some time. In Allianssi's next game against Haka all the new players started, including the goalie. The result of the match was for Haka 8-0 :missingte. The mystical chinese team owner Ye Zheyu disappeared after the match and as far as I know nobady knows where he is nowadays or is he alive. There was a criminal investigation about the match but no proofs were found. At asian black market there were rumours about huge bets, millions, for Haka's wins as goal handicaps and you could say bets like that amount in finnish football is once in a lifetime. This is said to be a common tactic to fix games, fixers are bying a team in lower divisions or in a land where teams are cheaper and then bam.
