I like Atlanta but they got a nice break not having to play at Dallas - can't see them beating Brady outside of Atlanta

That was a nice break. Although NE got a freebie in Houston & Assweiler. IOW two byes.

NE also got a team yesterday that decided not to cover one of their recievers on several plays, leaving him wide, very wide, open. Even my dead grandma could have done better. More freebies for NE.

I wouldn't count on Atlanta to be playing Santa Claus in the SB. They did a good job shutting down the hottest offence & QB. They also whipped a Seahawks team with a healthy QB that won in NE when he was still crippled.

The Falcons also lost to 2 sub .500 teams, I wonder what would've happened if the Patriots played Philly and SD.

The transitive property doesn't work in sports.

A NFC team (Seattle) with an average offence & a crippled QB put 31 points on NE, at NE.

What will one of the best offences ever do to them in the Super Bowl?

This whole year NE hasn't faced NFC offences like Green Bay, New Orleans or Atlanta.

Most of the teams NE faced were offensively challenged. Even some average AFC offences scored mid 20's on them.

Points taken, NE homer. I'm just playing "devil's advocate" in this thread, not trying to be objective ;

I'm actually a NE fan & hope they win by 5 TDs. But when it cums to wagers, i follow my head. The big one.

Was Pittsburgh offensively challenged? Three of the biggest offensive names in Foots. Squashed.

Pitt had 10pts before their garbage time TD yesterday. They're a pretty good offense.

What average AFC offenses scored in the mid 20's on them? Miami week 2 and Buffalo the 2nd meeting both did so when they were down double digits. Not exactly game flow neutral situations. That is all I can see.

San Diego scored 33 on Atlanta in Atlanta. Does this mean the Pats are gonna score 50?

Philadelphia held Atlanta to 15 points and Ryan Matthews ran them over.

It's a long season, you're putting a lot into 1 specific game for some reason.

They were Sunday night. Credit to NE gameplan. Atlanta is rolling right now. Should be a helluva game. No way they lay down like Pitts did.

You're right, Albatross. Not expecting Atlanta to lay down either. Was just responding to XFiles contention that NEn had not played any offenses like Green Bay, New Orleans, or Atlanta.

Gonna be a fun game for sure with two tremendous offenses.

Can you assess Atlanta's Defense for us, Albatross? Would help us a lot.

One thing is for sure. Pats will score 30+. Will the Falcons? Not so sure. Maybe. All depends on how sharp Matty Ice is and how well his supporting cast of pass catchers can stay focused and show up under the big lights.

Coaching and QB advantage goes to NE. Patriots will shut down Julio Jones like they did Antonio Brown and they have the 2nd best run defense in the league (whether they faced good offensive teams or not that's still good) so Matt Ryan who has a career 2-4 record in the playoffs will have to target Sanu and Gabriel to beat them. Sanu is good not great, and Gabriel could drop a wide open pass as often as catching it. I think I would like the Patriots here even if the line were -6.5

Considering all this I think Atl moneyline is the bet for me
