BASEBALL FREE B's FOR SUNDAY CHICAGO WS -108 over Texas--The White Sox just aren't losing series these days. They've won four of last five series gogin in to the break. Contreras goes Sunday and beats Matt Harrison (1-0). OVER 10.5 RUNS

A's -130 over Angels--Oakland's ace, Duchscherer is going today and he threw a two hit, complete game shutout his last start. This guy's got 10 wins and doesn't allow any runs. Count on it ! UNDER 7 RUNS

Cubs -143 over Giants--Dempster doesn't lose at Wrigley--Cubs are 11-0 when he pitches at home. I saw the Mets beat 10 win Lincecum at Shea this week, so he's beatable. Cubs finish sweep.

Braves +102 over Padres---Randy Wolf never beats Atlanta (4-10) in his career. He even recently called himself the "worst pitcher in baseball." Great confidence there chief ! Campillo beats him at Petco. OVER 7.5 RUNS

Dodgers -161 over Marlins--Andrew Miller is 1-5 in his last 9 starts and LA avoids the sweep with Billingsley on the mound at the Revine. He's 3-0 in five starts vs the marlins in his brief career. UNDER 8 RUNS--LA isn't scoring runs this week.

NEW YORK METS -160 over Rockies--Sunday night baseball at Shea on ESPN has the Mets going for their 9th straight win and longest streak in 8 yrs. Pelfrey has been on FIRE lately. He's been NY's best pitcher lately. The Mets have won 17 of last 19 meetings with Colorado in Queens. JUMP ON NY TONIGHT AND RIDE THE GRAVY TRAIN. UNDER 9 RUNS--Pelfrey's ERA over his last 5 wins in a row is 3.23

RE: A's & Angels, Saunders has left to be with his wife who just had a baby, so Moseley is being shipped in for the emergency start. Moseley has been sucking it up this year, including a poor showing against the A's. He's pitching off three days rest from his last 6 inning AAA start.

3 UNIT PLAY

PHILADELPHIA -140 over Arizona

The Diamondbacks are 5-21 in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a winning record and 8-20 in their last 28 games following a win, while the Phillies are 9-1 in Hamels' last 10 starts during game 3 of a series and 20-9 in Hamels' last 29 home starts, plus the Home team is 8-1 in Cuzzis last 9 Sunday games behind home plate. Brabdon Webb got of to a fine start, going 9-0 in his first 9 starts to the year, but he has reall taperedoff of late, going 4-4 with a 4.30 ERA in his last 10 starts. In two of those starts he allowed 0 ER to a pathetic Washington offense. If you take those two starts out, then he has gone just 2-4 with a 5.71 ERA in his other 8 starts. He is beginning to fade. Brandon is also 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA in his last 2 trips to Philly. The Phils offense has been sluggish lately, but with Howard coming around, there are signs of them starting to breakout. The Phils do score 5 rpg overall and 4.9 rpg at home, plus they score 4.9 rpg in Cole Hamels' overall starts and 6.6 rpg in his day starts. Cole is 9-6 with a 3.15 ERa overall, including 5-5 with a 2.81 ERA at home. He has been pitching very well of late, going 4-2 with a 2.34 ERA in his last 7 starts. The Phils got rocked last night 10-4, but today I expect Cole to come out and show why he should be an All-Star, while thePhills offense will have a good showing vs a fading Brandon Webb. Phils win a good one.

2 UNIT PLAY

NY Yanks -120 over TORONTO

The Yankees are 21-6 in their last 27 Sunday games, 40-12 in their last 52 during game 3 of a series and 11-3 in Pettittes last 14 starts as a road favorite, while the Blue Jays are 2-8 in their last 10 games vs. a left-handed starter and 0-4 in Burnetts last 4 starts as an underdog, plus the Blue Jays are 5-16 in their last 21 games with Culbreth behind home plate. AJ Burnett has had a mediocre year for the Blue Jays thus far as he is 9-8 overall with a 5.23 ERA, including a 6-3 mark with a 6.36 ERA at home and a 2-3 mark with a 5.91 ERA in day games. The Yanks haven't been hitting very well of late, but they do hit a solid .270 and score 4.7 rpg vs righty starters this year, plus they score 5.5 rpg for Andy his day starts. The Jays really struggle s southpaw starters as they come in with an 8-17 mark, while scoring just 3.2 rpg and hitting only .243 against them on the year. The Jays do score 5.9 rpg for AJ Burnett at home, but just 3.7 rpg for him in his day starts. Andy Pettite has had a fine year for the Yanks, posting a 10-6 mark wih a 3.93 ERA overall, including a 6.2 mark with a 3.45 ERA on the road. Andy has also been on quite a roll of late, going 5-1 with a 1.81 ERA in his last 6 starts, including a 2-0 mark with a 1.92 ERA in his last 2 road starts. The Yanks are 20-4 in game 3 of a series this year, including 8-2 if off a win and behind another strong showing from Pettite, I see both trends continuing here.

Houston Astros vs. Washington Nationals

Washington Nationals -104

1* on Washington Nationals -104
(List Perez only)

Odalis Perez has been brilliant as of late and stellar at home all season. Perez sports a 1.13 ERA over his last 3 starts and a miniscule 2.11 ERA in eight home starts this season. Those numbers make Washington a great play at home Sunday. Brandon Backe is 0-1 with a 6.60 ERA over his last 3 starts for Houston. Houston is 3-14 (-11.6 Units) against the money line after 2 straight games without a stolen base this season. Houston is 20-44 (-25.7 Units) against the money line vs. an NL starting pitcher whose ERA is 3.50 to 4.20 over the last 3 seasons. Washington is 11-2 (+9.2 Units) against the money line in home games vs. teams outscored by opponents by 0.5 or more runs/game in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons. Take the Nats on the Money Line.

Can anyone verify King Makers record recently. He has it at 25-16 for July, which I find very hard to believe.

Game: San Francisco at Chicago Cubs (2:20 PM Eastern)
Pick: Chicago Cubs -150 (moneyline)

Ryan Dempster had a terrible outing four games back at the White Sox, but then helped the Cubs beat these Giants and followed that performance with a one-run gem vs. Harang and the Reds. On the season, Dempster has a 2.58 ERA at home to go with a perfect 10-0 record. Yes, Lincecum is making waves and owns an impressive 10-2 mark himself, but the point is that Dempster is pitching every bit as good. This game comes down to location and offense. The Cubs are 37-11 at home, scoring 6.4 runs per game. They hit a bit of an offensive slump a few weeks back, but they are hitting the ball well again. The Giants only score 4.1 per game and they are 10-25 in day games. Chicago is 13-2 this season as a home favorite and they a perfect 11-0 with Dempster on the hill. We'll back the Cubs here.
