I'll tell you what...if the posters who were giving me a hard time this morning apologize in a private message I will continue posting Big Al's plays. I was honestly planning on posting his plays for basically forever. I thought this was an intellectual community of sports gamblers but I appear to have been mistaken.
I too want to see Big Al's plays posted also because over time they have been decent and want to see who he is on whether
I play his pick(s) or not.
Regarding regression and as a person who had a strong minor in statistics years ago, the concept is certainly true and valid when it comes
to sports handicapping.
However, no one can say precisely when.
The best example I can think of is that back in the 2002 baseball season, the Oakland A's went on an amazing 20-game winning
streak, which I believe is still a record.
That said, after about 10 games or so, there were folks who started fading Oakland and doubling up after each win because
according to them Oakland was due to lose and that it was impossible that they could go on like this.
Well obviously EVENTUALLY Oakland did start to lose some games, but it sure as hell didn't help those who kept chasing them,
it betting against them after 10 or so games!!
ps I I do think iit fair though that gargamel did post the warning about what he did say about regression at this point to remind
people of what the concept is and could mean at this juncture!!
As long as I been posting here, I have never reporter a poster in any thread. But if anyone messes with the Big Al picks in the future, I will report them immediately and I encourage others to do the same. I came in here the last few days mainly to check out Big Al's picks. The goal of this forum in my opinion should be to help players make money, and Big Al has certainly delivered on that. Thanks again for posting.
Once Rockland and Dmazzy apologize for their irreverent comments I will post picks again. Trust me, nobody is posting as faithfully and as early in the day as I am. Most of the time, the picks are available to you for free from a world class handicapper before you are even awake. Your can't beat that.
My last comment on this is that several folks including myself expressed OPINIONS today about whether Big Al is due to start losing
after a big run.
Unless I missed something, I didn't see anyone bashing Big Al or his picks, and if anything there is agreement that he is a decent capper.
Therefore I don't understand the need for an apology from anyone and to move on and hopefully have the picks continue
to be posted!!
