QUARTER HORSE 350Y, FOR OKLAHOMA-BRED TWO-YEAR-OLDS WHICH WERE NOMINATED AND REMAIN ELIGIBLE FOR THESE TRIALS. WEIGHT, 122 LBS.

RECOMMENDED*CHOICES

# 4 BELLS BIG HERO 2/1

# 3 FLINTY 7/2

# 2 GYPSYS LAST HERO 4/1

BELLS BIG HERO is my choice. He has earned decent numbers under today's conditions and will most likely fare well versus this field. Put up a strong speed rating in the last race. Can run another good one in this contest. Has formidable Equibase Class Figures relative to this field - worth a look. FLINTY - Should compete very well in the early pace battle which bodes well with this group. Recorded a solid Equibase Speed Fig in the latest race. Can run another good one in this race. GYPSYS LAST HERO - Has been running admirably lately and will most likely be up near the lead early on. Should keep the good string of finish positions intact this time around.

RACE #5 - BELMONT PARK - 3:07 PM EASTERN POST

The Pumpkin Pie Stakes

6.0 FURLONGS DIRT FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD STAKES $100,000.00 PURSE

#6 STONETASTIC
#1 MOMAMEMARIA
#9 KELSOCAIT
#8 LET'S PARLAY

Here in just the 3rd running of this stake race, #6 STONETASTIC has won 6 of 9 starts in her career to date sprinting at 6.0 furlongs on the dirt, is the overall speed and pace profile leader and has exceptional early speed abilities to compliment for this sprint. She's hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in four of her respective last five outings, including a pair of "POWER RUN WINS" being embedded in this recent streak of racing consistency. Jockey Paco Lopex and Trainer Kelly Breen send her to the post ... they've hit the board with 52% of nearly 50 entries saddled as a team to date. #1 MOMAMEMARIA takes a class drop, and has posted "POWER RUNS" in each of her last three starts, hitting the board in a pair, including a "POWER RUN WIN" in her 3rd race back.

World Series

Game 5

Indians @ Cubs
Bauer is 0-1, 4.80 in his last three starts, 0-1, 5.00 in three postseason starts, which lasted a total of only nine innings. Monday is a day off; could be a bullpen game for Cleveland, which is 3-4 in Bauer’s last eight road starts.
Lester is 7-2, 1.56 in his last ten starts, 8-7, 2.60 in 18 postseason starts. Cubs are 12-0 in his last dozen home starts.
Cubs are 8-6 in playoffs this year, 4-3 at home; they’ve been shut out in four of their last nine*games. Chicago is 8-2 in playoffs if they score a run. Obviously Chicago hasn’t been in World Series since 1945, Indians since 1997. Cleveland is 10-2 in playoffs, 5-1 on road- they’ve tossed five shutouts in postseason.
Maddon is 25-28 as a playoff manager, 12-11 with Cubs. he lost 2008 World Series with Rays. Francona won World Series with Boston in 2004, 2007; he is 38-20 as a postseason manager, 11-1 in World Series games.

Yonkers: Sunday 10/30 Analysis
By Matt Rose

DRF

MEET STATS: 378 - 1100 / $2,070.00

BEST BETS: 50 - 90 / $164.90

Best Bet: PRETTY BOY HILL (11th)

Spot Play: WIND OF THE NORTH (1st)

Race 1

(8) WIND OF THE NORTH raced respectably in the Invitational last out, picking up a nice 4th place check. He looks best here despite the outside post. (5) LUMINOSITY has made a very nice living this year racing primarily at the Open level and he wasn't bad last week after getting shuffled. (7) TORNADO TIM was an upset winner last out for Allard and he should be a closing threat.

Race 2

(1) NOT AFRAID was never close enough to threaten last week despite the short field. Takter's classy veteran should be able to control things from this spot. (9) CAULFIELD didn't fire on the rim when last seen here but he followed that up with a sharp score at Pocono; Sears is back driving. (3) LUCK O THE IRISH beat up lesser last out and Bartlett sticks with him over a Banca trainee.

Race 3

(6) HEMI SEELSTER absolutely jogged up at Saratoga in his debut for the Milici barn. He steps way up here but seems more than capable. (10) XTATIC HANOVER ships in riding a three race win streak and note two back at Philly he was a winner at this added distance. (1) PIERCEWAVE HANOVER has obvious ability but has been erratic; use caution.

Race 4

(3) GAELIC AND GARLIC hasn't won since returning locally but he should be forwardly placed from this spot and could trip out in this tough-to-figure event. (8) CLEMENTINE DREAM is arguably best here but is coming off a break and now has to overcome the eight hole. (9) JUSTICE JET gets needed class relief but hasn't looked all that sharp.

Race 5

(5) ON THE PODIUM returns locally off a couple of sharp wins versus lesser out of town; veteran was an easy winner at this distance a few months ago. (2) LAUDERDALE has missed some time coming off a break but he's capable if ready. (6) CI'S BUCKEYE has jogged in two of his last three for Milici but he goes the longer distance today.

Race 6

(9) MOVEMENT has been sharp for quite some time now and she returns to the Allard barn via claim; she looks like the one to beat in here. (7) WARRAWEE ONYX gets needed class relief and he's shown live moves here in the past. (2) SIGNAL HILL OK exits the Amateur ranks and gets a driver upgrade.

Race 7

(1) VEGLIANTINO has been better in her two starts since moving to the Andrew Harris barn and this trotter could show further improvement today. (6) MASSIVE TALENT has beaten better than these in the past. (3) FOX VALLEY STEFFEN has hit the ticket in three of four at this level including two wins.

Race 8

(1) MUSTANG MACH N should win this race rather easily but won't offer any value. (3) AUTOMATIC SLIMS keeps Bartlett and will likely be looking for the pocket trip. (2) SPORTING THE LOOK returns from Monticello and was a close second when last seen here.

Race 9

(1) ALBERTO CONTADOR N dropped to the bottom and got the job done; he works his way back up the class ladder now and is more than capable of repeating. (7) BETTOREVER never got involved last week but he may try firing from the gate today. (2) ROCK TO GLORY drops, draws well and promises to be close up throughout.

Race 10

(5) BALLERAT BOOMERANG charged home in his last two starts, the most recent with Lasix added. 3-year-old may have more to offer. (2) WAR DADDY was uncovered into a quick back half and certainly didn't disgrace himself. (1) ROLL WITH FRED rode the former's live cover and kicked home nicely but he may be overbet in this spot.

Race 11

(1) PRETTY BOY HILL has put in six nice efforts after a dull local debut and the Alagna trainee looks mighty tough from this spot. (4) BRED TO RACE gets needed post relief after some no-chance efforts and the Burke trainee has hinted at ability. (5) SENATOR CHARLIE ships from Pennsylvania and merits a look.

Preview: Indians (94-67) at Cubs (103-58)

Lester tries to keep Cubs alive in Game 5

CHICAGO -- Jon Lester carries the 108-year hopes of the Chicago Cubs to the mound for Game 5 of the World Series.

In their 177th game of the season, the Cubs are in a win-or-go home situation for the first time, trailing the Cleveland Indians 3-1 in the best-of-seven World Series.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon gives the ball to his most pressure-proven pitcher with the season on the line at Wrigley Field on Sunday night.

Lester has a 1.69 ERA in the 2016 playoffs with 21 strikeouts and five walks. His rich postseason resume includes 20 games (18 starts), 2.60 ERA and 8-7 record.

"I don't think you can really take it any different than any other start, whether you're tied or whether you're down or up," Lester said. "I think you have to have the same mindset going into it. It's hard enough to pitch this time of year or play this time of year and be successful. I think if you're down 3-1 and you're going in there saying you have to do this, you have to do that to try to stay alive, I think you've kind of already been beaten, you know? You're not worried about the right thing."

The Indians can clinch the franchise's third championship Sunday and end their own 67-year drought, the longest in the American League.

Cleveland's offense created traffic on the bases Saturday for the second consecutive game and bashed two home runs, but the Indians are being anchored by amazing pitching.

While Andrew Miller looked relatively human in allowing a Dexter Fowler home run -- snapping a 16-inning scoreless streak -- Corey Kluber went six to win for the second time in four games and set up swagger-filled righ-hander Trevor Bauer to start Sunday's potential clincher.

The atmosphere on Chicago's North Side has been electric, but the Indians hushed Wrigley with seven runs Saturday. Bauer said he looks forward to the historical challenge before him.

"The best part of it is hearing them all leave silent," Bauer said.

The Cubs beat Bauer in Game 2 and got on the board in the first inning. Terry Francona said he did not considering going with another starter in Game 5.

"Trevor's been a really good pitcher for us for four years,' Francona said. " If we thought that the finger was getting in the way, I understand it. But he's come so far and battled this thing so much that I think his better game is ahead of him."

Lester said he will put extra emphasis on getting ahead of hitters, even if he has to show more than he wants the Indians to see, because of his Game 1 first inning misfortune. A walk, hit batter -- when ahead in the count 0-2 -- and a hit cost Lester the lead.

"That was the game. Anytime you've got a guy like Kluber going against you, you can't give up much. Then come to find out just how locked in he was," Lester said, reliving Game 1. "So like I said, I don't mind giving up hits and giving up homers. It's the walks and the hit-by-pitch that really haunt me in that first inning. So you can't give up free base runners, especially this time of year. You just give them more opportunities to see you. You have to make more pitches."

Entering Game 4, the Indians were batting. 202 in the World Series. Francona said the approach at the plate will not change, but the results are adding up. The sparkplug for Cleveland has been shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is approaching Sandy Alomar's postseason team record of 20 hits.

But depth of the lineup, according to Maddon and Lester, is the real story when it comes to stopping the Indians.

"You have a lot of contact in that lineup. So that puts pressure on your defense when you're able to do that," Lester said. "When you don't strike out a lot, that puts pressure on your defense, and makes you continually execute pitches. And I think that's where they wear the starting pitcher down and get to that bullpen early."

Maddon boiled down the edge to two factors: Lester's experience and getting on the board first. The Cubs went up 1-0 in Game 4 and lost, but it was the first time the team crossing the plate first didn't get a win in the LCS and World Series.

"To have a guy in Jon that's been-there-done-that kind of a guy, and he's been very successful, been a World Series champion, he knows what the feeling is like, he knows what it takes," Maddon said. "So it's definitely comforting to the rest of the group for tomorrow.

"So the big thing again is to grab the lead somehow. Grab the lead, hold onto the lead. You don't want to try to fight from behind on these guys because that trilogy (relievers Miller, Bryan Shaw and closer Cody Allen) and they're throwing out there is pretty good."

Francona has consistently programmed a winning formula for Cleveland. He's 11-1 all-time in the World Series and one win shy of his third ring, Cleveland's first since 1948. Francona's magic touch at the lever, from the mix-and-match lineup to uncanny feel for his bullpen, was on display in both wins at Wrigley. Just don't expect him to say as much, preferring to credit his players and support staff.

"The thing that helps me a ton is the cooperation we get with our players is phenomenal because we do some things -- we've done a few things that are a little out of the box this series, last series, and they handle it," Francona said. "I'm not sure you can always do that with every player and have it work."

Bob Balfe Bonus Plays today.

NFL
1:00 PM EST
Rotation #259-260
Patriots -5 over Bills
The Bills rocked New England earlier this year and even talked trash in the process. Not a smart idea. Brady was not in that game and this team is going to get their revenge today. The Bills front seven on defense is a mess with injury right now and I don’t see how they stop this offense today. On the offensive side Buffalo has no running game and just about every key receiver is hurt. This is a banged up football team, but Belichick and Brady will show no mercy. Take New England.

MLB
8:05 PM EST
Rotation #905-906
Cubs -1.5 runs over Indians -110
Lester/Bauer
The Cubs have the better pitcher on the mound and should get a big victory today. This series is not over by any means. I would hate to see the city of Chicago get swept at home in 3 straight nights after they waited 100 years for a world series. Chicago will find their bats tonight and if they can get it back to Cleveland anything can happen. Take the Cubs.
