ZIT does the math:I can safely conclude from the responses in this thread that none of the liberal posters has any problem with spending
30 times the amount of money on AIDS research as cancer, even though cancer kills 55 times as many people.

SH: Either that, or the other liberals posting in this thread concur with my own belief which is that we need to keep AIDS research spending at least at its current rate and at the same time jack up research on cancer by at least 30x.

there is alot of money to be made in all the various types of treatment detection prevention of cancer due to its wide scope

many companies already do their own R&D with their own in house funding

as for AIDS its one specific virus and hard to tackle and there isn't as much money involved in it

the market for cancer as far as money making potential is much much much bigger than AIDS therefore there is much much more private research money spent on it

and by nature undertaking research for hiv drugs vs. cancer drug/treatment/prevention is a more risky enterprise meaning chances of your drug failing whatnot is higher with HIV IMO

either way i'm a hard core fiscal conservative i don't think government should be doing any of this shit...

if there is a market for it, it will get funded by somebody in the free markets, if not it won't

Yeah thats what I said let me clarify it...Aids started with Gays then spread to the heteros via the Bi's...So it in effect kills 3 birds with one stone... Homosexuality,Promiscuous Hetero Sex & Overpopulation of the Earth...
