Are the bookies overreacting to these streaks
The lines moved quite a bit off the opening. The previous plays had no impact on line changes except for possibly Montana which went from -21 to -18 or -18 and a half in a lot of places so still grading that play as a loss. Seems the bookies are overreacting to the streak records or maybe they just listened to Steve and Skips' podcast. Grading Steven's plays today as follows to reflect the line changes:
817 Villanova -7 1/2 instead of -8
838 Loyola Chicago Ramblers -7 instead of -7 1/2
840 USC -17 1/2 at home over California instead of -18 1

We will see how good he really is using realistic lines. That East Tennessee line may move down to -18 or better as the public seems to be jumping on the big dogs.

You don't want to bet these games as soon as the line comes up. East Tennessee State promptly moved from -18 and a half to -16 everywhere. Seems the odds makers are over inflating the lines because the team is on a streak, and bettors are jumping on the other side. As I post this all the books have -16 on East Tennessee State and all but one have Nebraska at +4.
