Major publicity stunt? If not, it worked. I don't think the average person even knew the pageant was on last night, until the Harvey debacle exploded instantly on every news blog...
This is not a big deal. He handled it will. All he did was read what the card said. Every person in this thread would have done the same thing unless you are illiterate .

Again....what could have happened was that Columbia had it wrapped up BEFORE the new twist at the end where all of the other contestants vote.
So they printed the card after failing to tally the votes which changed things after they realized what they forgot & added them.
Guarantee ya all of the other girls' didn't care for Columbia's arrogant answer & that was the difference in the end...

What MattyMatt said makes sense. Miss Colombia was considered by many to be "arrogant". Maybe some wanted to bring her down a few pegs and get the event some attention. Producers catch the error immediately and, "in Harvey's ear" as you say them to be are yelling at him so he's like "Hold Up." immediately. Only feasible circumstance the "error" gets left to go on through the chick getting crowned then celebrating and only THEN the "error" getting corrected is if Producer wanted that to be what happened.
Pageant wanted to stick it to the Colombian Girl.

Major Red Flag though is how very long transpired between the incorrect announcement and the "correction".
That was a long LONG time.
Way too long a time. That long of a time makes for clear signage pointing to a plan.
To conclude the opposite you'd have to convince yourself they were running around confused about what to do which is absurd. Producers know its gotta be corrected and every second they wait to do that makes it worse.
When Columbia was just standing there so long & nothing was happening, i asked my gf what the heck was going on..
Knew something wasn't right.
I do think they were scrambling in a panic & not sure what to do, and that's when Harvey manned up for everyone & came out saying "let me take control of this" because apparently his colleagues didn't have a clue
Thats my belief.
That he merely took the fall for a bunch of morons...
