The Orioles and RHP Yovani Gallardo have agreed to a two-year deal worth $22 million, according to ESPN and multiple reports. The team can buyout Gallardo for $2 million dollars after two years or pick up a club option of a third year worth $13 million.

Matt Boyd will pitch the Grapefruit League opener vs PITT March 1. Buck Farmer and Mike Pelfrey will pitch the split-squad games the following day. Not clear yet who will face NYY and who will face PITT

Cubs trade Inf/Of Chris Coghlan to the A's for pitcher Aaron Brooks who has made 15 career appearances. The move is a little surprising in that it takes away from the Cubs depth in the field though adds to the pitching depth. Coghlan didn't have a starting spot though he was expected to split some time in RF w Jorge Soler.
