Listen fellas...Like I stated above I don't necessarily agree with this article..I'm just saying it COULD happen. If maybe for only one season. Personally I think the SEC is the best conference in football until somebody else actually shows me different.

But when I see Ferris Bueller making idiotic statements about McCoy's size or the SEC having better QB's this season than the Big 12, even though 5 QB's in that conference are unproven or haven't even been a starter, I'm going to call him on it.

haha now you backpedal.

i just got off the phone with colts mom and she said hes 6'1 205

anyway...the reason QB's are unproven are because the level of play. they had better in front of them last year. its the same old crap you guys liek to say a team with 11 returning startes dont mean crap if they suck.

id bet theres more qb's on SEC rosters that will play in the NFL that will NOT start a game this year than there are future NFL Qb's in the Big 12.

QB's. Tebow & Stafford, period. B 12, Daniel, Harrell, Bradford, McCoy, no contest this yr. And yes McCoy IS 6'3", he's confusing him w/either Daniel or Reesing. I am NOT a fan of either Conf., but facts are facts. Harrell to Crabtree vs Tebow to Harvin? Interesting. If we do it historicly from 1958 they're just about dead even. Take Bama out of the equation and the SEC has won only 7. Neb, OU, & Tx have won almost all for the B12. The Big 10 WILL return (I think).

The SEC is the best. I know it hurts others to acknowledge this. Just a fact. Been this way for 10+ years.

if you believe the guy is 6'3 225 there is no need to talk to you . he goes from 6'1 180 in HS..signs with texas and was listed at 6'3 the next day on thier website..come on man, you have seen him on the field havent you ? major applewhite was a bigger body than him and he was a dwarf too.

it is hilarious that chase daniel has heisman hopes and last year had NC dreams and his claim to fame is beating an unranked SEC team in a bowl game. arkansas was like the 6th best team in the SEC last year, maybe 7th or 8th ...whats your point ?

I think it's ridiculous to be arguing better QBs in conference based on height and weight. It's just like Leach said three weeks ago: "Height on QB is way overrated. Tell me how a 6'5" QB is better than a 6'0" QB whenever they both are playing behind offensive linemen that average over 6'6" and weigh over 300#s?"

We're all in agreement with you that the SEC has been the best conference. But there is a finer line between the strength of the SEC and the other conferences that the media/fans would lead you to believe..If they were as dominate as they say, we wouldn't have seen scores like this in their bowl games in 2007:

Bama 30 Colorado 24

Tennessee 21 Wisconsin 17

Michigan 41 Florida 35

Georgia 41 Hawaii 10 (non BCS team)

LSU 38 Ohio State 24

Missouri 38 Arkansas 7

Kentucky 35 Florida State 28

Auburn 23 Clemson 20 (OT)

Miss.St. 10 UCF 3 (non BCS team)

Only 2 games were decided by over a TD..The BCS title game. And Georgia's win over a non BCS conference team. And two outright losses to the Big 10 and Big 12. This doesn't look dominate to me.

I guess for Georgia its all about saying how good the SEC is because the last time I checked Georgia has not exactly played for a National Title in nearly 30 years.

A Wins, A Win... 7 wins and 2 loses is dominate.

This is and has always been the dumbest argument ever. Seriously, who cares which conference is the best?? Does it matter? In the end, the teams that end up with the best record will play each other to prove their own legitimacy. Hawaii was proof last year that they didn't belong, and other teams have been exposed as well (OSU).

Almost everybody, including most people that posted in this thread has said that the SEC is the best just not as dominate as you think. Before I even type anymore I will say that yes, I think the SEC is the best conferance, but do you people even realize that your dominate conferance has an impressive 5-8 record against the big-10 counting regular season and bowl games since 2004.

Quick question, how is that dominate? In fact its not even good. And most of those games have taken place in the south.

The other myth I love so much is how the SEC is so much faster than the Big-10. Let me ask you this. How much faster was Florida than Michigan the last 2 times they played, because I believe that Michigan has beat Florida twice in recent history and in last years game wasn't even close.

Gone round and round with you on this one. Yes UF is much faster, see ohio State. My point is, when you put an SEC team on a field with something to play for the stakes change. No SEC team gives a shit about playing in any other bowl than a BCS. A tenn or Florida or Lsu is in the running for the conference/national title and two bad bounces of the ball and boom they're in the outback bowl, doesn't fire the team up very much. And the games being played in the South are actually a detriment, especially a Florida. There's no excitement when DON't get to travel somewhere you've never been. Those players go home for the weekend and treat the game as ho hum.

But look at the reverse and check the SEC record in BCS/National title games. It's something like 12-3. Case closed.

You know this, of course, because the radio talk show hosts in SEC country tell you this.

I know this becuase I watch fuckin football, and I'm not mentally challenged.....get a clue, watch some games, witness the diffrence yourself....SEC is bigger, faster, and stronger, you see it on the screen....watch a sec game then change the channel to a ND game on 3, or another game on espn, its not that difficult to figure out.

Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds. We don't care about playing in the capital one bowl, but we care about the sugar bowl. So your basically saying the capital one bowl doesn't mean anything too Florida but Michigan should be honored to be there. The only thing there is to measure these teams on is play on the field period. You can't pick and choose whitch games are important to you and just use those. All games count. Do you think Michigan was fired up to play in the rose bowl 2 years ago when UF leapfrogged them. No, but the game still counts.

Also listen to every NFL, MLB, NHL, or NBA player talk about traveling to play a game. I gaurantee it was much harder for michigan to travel 1300 miles to play a game than it was for Florida to travel what 70 miles. You've never heard of a player saying, I think it was an advantage for us to travel across the country while the other team stayed home. Look at the home and away records of almost every MLB team this year. There is a clear advantage to playing in your own back yard as opposed to traveling across the country.

This makes sense. I was waiting to see if anyone said it.

All this "best conference" posturing was invented by an SEC fan who's own team was badly beat. Having nothing left for his deflated ego to live for, he became brainwashed into becoming a football conference socialist. Most SEC fans would NEVER side with any other team in the south except for that feeling of hopelessness and surrender that comes from a good beatdown. So just remember, whenever an SEC fan proclaims his conference's greatness, he's really telling you that being fan of his own team hurts.

For the most part, they are very unaware of any college football that exists anywhere but in the SEC. It's not worthy to even call it football. And since nobody talks anything but football in the SEC, they know nothing about the rest of the country.

I guess they must get fired to play everyone except USC. Also, was Florida not fired up to play Nebraksa, I mean they lost by Under 40, so I guess than they were fired up.

So, then why did Cal knock Tennessee's dicks in the dirt last season?

Yes, the SEC is the best conference, but to sit their and say it is what the Big East was in 1985 College Hoops, (3 Final Four Teams) is a joke.

How does Florida lose 4 games, did their speed diminish in 1 season.

This entire argument is predicated upon 2 things. OSU being overconfident going into the Florida game and LSU being better than OSU last season, so based on this all of a sudden the SEC is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Question, when was the last time Florida played an OOC out of the state of Florida? When was the last time Tennesse traveled north like Texas, USC, Miami to play anyone?

How did Georgia lose to a 1 dimensional team in the Sugar Bowl 2 years ago. What they didn't have the speed to stop Pat White and Steve Slaton?
