his second stroke could have been brutal. im guessing hes bad off. so removing him as mod makes sense.
The post by RX Forum said they have no idea about his condition so why would they demote him on just heresay? I doubt his health has anything to do with losing his mod status.

Some Comments:

1. Get well BAS if all that is stated about your health is true, then you have a long road of recovery ahead of you. I believe Sharky99 laid it out earlier in this post how much is likely involved.

2. Hotshotgambler - I have to single you out. Nearly every post of yours in this thread has been negative. You even stoop so low to blame BAS for you not to be able to pay your rent and some other item? Seriously? You state you live in Vegas, $2,000 in Vegas is chump change. Sorry it's just the way it is there.

Also you made a post several days ago about being a proxy for the Westgate Super Contest and how cheap you would be. This thread alone with your replies likely killed any business you thought you could dredge up. Also your post should have been removed because as far as I can remember only two posters had any prior permission to push for proxy business. Sharky99 and NFL Trends.

3. For those that are owed money, yes it sucks, yes it blows not to get paid timely, but worse things have happened. A little patience and human decency should be used here. I am sure this part will get bashed but think one moment if it was you in this situation. Does anyone wake up and say, today I am going to have a heart attack, wait, I am going to have a stroke. No of course not. Unless this is proved that it is bunk, what other information can you go by? So take it at it's word and hope all turns out for the good for BAS. I can't say if he will pay or not but based on his history he always has, so why would he stiff everyone now. I have no idea what the prize pools were in the past but shouldn't they have been nearly as much or close to it in the past?

4. This goes to the management of the RX which is really SBR:

A. Even though some agreement was made between management and BAS, the contests were held and ran on this website. This doesn't absolve the management of RX/SBR off the hook at all. It actually makes it liable. Let's say you went to Bank X and deposited $5,000. Teller A takes your $5,000 and pockets it. A few days later you notice that the $5,000 isn't in your account. Bank A is liable for the $5,000 because it's representative took your $5,000.

I am not saying BAS took anyone's money, I want that to be clear. However RX/SBR had an employee representing them and ran contests. RX/SBR is liable as the host of this site and the content. This squarely puts the onus on them to make this right and right away.

While "Rx Forum" whomever that is made a statement on page 15, it was 15 pages too late. To say you didn't know, means you aren't running or managing the forum at all. It would appear that they want to benefit from the sign ups at sportsbooks and advertising money but not manage the store. Whatever happens we can plead we didn't know. Sorry but that just shows ignorance on your part.

SBR is supposedly the player advocate but in this case, the players ( contest winners ) what support are they being given? If this was 5 Dimes, Betonline or some other book that was being promoted here or there and players came forth and said we won these contests and are owed "x" amount of dollars, would SBR sit by idly as the "players advocates" They can't have it both way. It is a total conflict of interest and they should be the ones responsible and held accountable.

Once BAS recovers, he can make it right with them, this way the players (posters) don't remain in limbo.

This is a pretty easy fix on the SBR side, they have supposedly these great relationships with books, why not give the players winnings in the form of betting accounts. It may not be what the players want, but it would be better than what they have now, which is uncertainty.

SBR wants to have its cake and eat it too and that doesn't work in this situation. To absolve themselves from the situation and throw BAS under the bus was wrong. What should have been done and what was done are two different things.

FREE advice to the SBR management.

Posters,

It was brought to our attention the issue with non payment or slow payment of contests that were run on our sister site The Rx. We apologize for this unfortunate situation and will make things right with you. Please send us your details and what you are owed. Upon verification we will make the necessary steps to get you paid.

BAS has been a valuable Head Mod to the RX for many years and has done a great job in the past with these contests and paying everyone out. Unfortunately at this time due to health issues he is unable to meet his normal obligations. We have full faith in BAS and look forward to his return when he is able. We keep him and his family in our prayers.

Contact us at xxxxxx@sbr.com

That's how it should have been handled and still can be handled. It's management 101 something SBR has forgotten and needs to take lessons in once again. If they want to be continued to be looked at as an industry leader, then they need to step up and do the right thing.

In closing keep BAS and his family in your prayers, whether you like him or not, he didn't ask for this medical issue and I hope none of you ever experience it first hand. It's not easy.

Not even comparable. You don't work at yahoo in any fashion or represent them in any capacity. Wrong argument to try to apply to this situation unless, you worked at yahoo or represented yahoo. Pretty huge difference.

Do you work for yahoo? Is it that hard to understand BAS works for SBR?
But I’m also understanding from what Hache said is that BAS had permission to run these contests on his own and RX or SBR was not affiliated with them. Was he getting paid by SBR to run these contests?

Not a huge difference if he is just using the website to run his contests, not associated with SBR. But as I stated above it depends on what agreement they had.

But HP, the contests aren't SBR sponsored and it is explicitly stated that they have nothing to do with them. They went out of their way to make this clear.

I agree with you on the "managing the store" stuff it wasn't exactly a secret. Your critique may be a valid critique of their biz model as it relates to this place but doesn't mean they gotta cut a check for 34k.....They aren't doing much with the place and don't seem to pay it much attention but that is their choice.

Mistakes were made but I don't see how they're liable for the money.

I've made many lasting friendships in the last 20 years on the sports forums and been fortunate to have had many more positive experiences/dealings 90%++ than negative ones. I consider BAS/family good friends and have had 100% positive dealings with him for the many years I have known him and his family. I have had 100% positive dealings with all the Mods on this site for many years also. I am 100% confident everyone will get paid from the contests which have been running on the site for several years with no problems in the past to my knowledge.

I was away for a bit so I will continue to get updated but since I work in the medical industry I feel it's important to say if what I read is true that he had 2 strokes and a heart attack those are life altering events which can have many effects short and long term. It did not happen that long ago, does he have any type of paralysis?, sensory or visual impairments? Problems verbalizing or understanding speech, eating and swallowing? How's his motility and body able to process everything ok ie... Medication, drips ...etc... It can affect emotion, cognitive levels, perception and orientation. Everyone's body chemistry is different so we do not know how he is tolerating everything.

In my opinion the timelines are still quite short from when this all happened so having a level of patience is important since your wasting a lot of energy and time on aspects you have no control over for the moment. So I understand completely the strong opinions and emotions involved at this times but considering the events and circumstances having empathy, wishing him and his family a good recovery is important, having a back up plan moving forward for the contests is important. Waiting for your payout within acceptable timelines is reasonable in my opinion also.

Well put Sharky. A member of my family had a stroke a few years ago and everyday tasks for him now aren't as quick and easy as they used to be. Totally understandable to continue to be patient at the moment.

There's a number of people that are owed winnings. If I had recently had multiple medical problems resulting in my cognitive levels being off, I would not be wanting to deal with large transactions. I would inform my family of the situation of money owed, giving them my login info only to be used if I passed. I would not want my family logging into my PP account/sending money orders to finish the payments that I had already partially started. There's too much room for error involving people who likely aren't accustomed to handling that.

As someone that's owed close to 5 figures, it's not ideal to wait this long, but uncontrollable things happen. I believe it'd be a shame to end the contests. I think having a better procedure in the event something catastrophic happens would be the better option moving forward. In my brief history of talking to BAS thru PM, I have reason to believe that he is honest and sincere. I've talked to the very personable Sharky a few times over the past year, if he and many other users have full confidence that everything will be paid, I have trust in their history/judgment that everyone that's owed money will be paid.

Just saying if you don’t have rent $ based on a contest u may win or not over course of a football season, ya may wanna step away from gambling

Nah, the best thing to do is make 240 posts on a gambling forum about it.

Obviously, it is helping.

Now that's a class post. This site needs more posters like you.

A lot of you trouble making shit stirrers that have no horse in the race (air bettors, trouble makers, internet tough guys but real life pussies) could learn a lesson from a poster who is owed almost 10K and is patiently waiting for a positive resolution to a bad situation.

Maybe he is on either short term or long term disability. If he was fired I would think that he would be banned. I hope everything will work out for all
