I see where you are coming from, but I think what BAS did was reasonable.

I think distributing a pretty good size of money to several people takes longer than people realize, especially when it's been documented that BAS has had PP issues in the past. I think he felt the need to address the GB situation, because it somewhat ties into this and he felt the need to assure people that he isn't what GB made him out to be.

I think the problem here was having one guy hold that kind of money for several contests. You need to be prepared to make a payout in case something like this happens.

If you the Greenbacks was more important than owing $35,000 to many posters, then you are as dumb as I thought.

One thing is clear to me though.

There will probably be no more contests such as these, even after everyone gets paid.

Some of the cold-hearted comments about BAS here are GB-level. Once he comes back and settles this situation the way he would any situation, then there shouldn't be any mercy.

I’m not clear why he felt dealing with a bunch of childish posters was more important than owing $35,000 to multiple posters? I’m not saying the payments should have been made because of his condition but he could have communicated something in this thread about it. I think that is what concerns most.

No, I'm saying maybe he felt the need to assure people that he's not a ring leader, as that might be something that is soothing to people who are owed money.

And maybe he didn't have the time to go through giving out money to everyone given his situation. You really think it would take 10 minutes to dish out $35k without any sort of red flags, like some people here have suggested?

Maybe he could've directly mentioned the payout situation in that rant about GB; but I found his post to be classy and necessary regardless. If I was owed money, I wouldn't worry too much--given who BAS is. You just need to be patient.

I believe he did intend to send payments, until he had the 2nd attack while in the hospital, which was immediately after this thread.

That was a major setback to anything he had planned.

So are you really sticking with the angle that NOBODY at RX is able to reach BAS? How and when did he see the threads here and at other forums which provoked him to create this thread?

Absolutely.

He doesn't have his phone or computer for anyone to reach him.

His last reply was from his daughter's phone and that was because he had to install our email on her phone.

The guys who hopped in here vouching for BAS like he's the forums own US Mint, shdw01 and MattyMatt, now are coming with excuses to explain their cold feet and change of heart. It's ok to change your mind, but at least admit the actual reasons why. Your cold feet involve the same thoughts we who are owed money are having.

I don't know why you are trying to bad mouth me. Below is the first post i made in this thread. I only knew of everything yesterday. I still have faith he is going to get everyone paid but by no means do i imply here that he is the US mint.

$35k is not chump change to anyone. Guys like Bill Gates or Lebron James have infinite money but they understand that $35k is a lot of money.

The only thing we know is that BAS is a stand up guy and whether it is easy to come up with or he is scrambling to gather money, he is going to do all he can to make it right. Not like lots of other people that realize it is easy to just dig out and keep all the $.

However, everyone calling him out like this and dragging his name through the mud probably doesn't make him try to get the money any sooner. In fact it is probably doing the opposite.

No actually you did not address my point. When he was well enough to do his job on this site again, his first priority should have been to either start sending payments or at minimum started a thread here to tell posters about his situation and that their money will be shipped ASAP. But instead he chose to start this thread and deal with something far less important and because of it created this situation. You havent(and I realize you can’t, only BAS can) explained why the Greenbacks situation was more important than owing $35,000 to posters who put up money up front.

this whole thing sucks. For BAS, those owed money and the forum.

Pretty clear that although those should have been paid earlier the more pressing issue at the moment is BAS and his health so that if your owed $ it wont be happening in the immediate future. If you need it take up another guy on their offer of insurance, sucks but that may be your best choice if you need it. If not dont expect to hear more about it anytime soon since BAS has bigger things to deal with.
