I have been around a decent amount of time and think BAS is straight up and a good dude. I don't know him AT ALL outside of this forum like some do and 100% hope he recovers to full strength. That said I would trust exactly zero of you with $5,000 of my money.

And all that said if I owed people $35,000 and had issues with Greenbacks and had major health issues...and had to pick which one to pop back in for a moment and address one or the other? Greenbacks would be way down the list. That was a bit strange and could see people being a little bit worried and have some questions.

Take a joke, you over-sensitive creep

BAS will come back when he is healthy and take care of what needs to be taken care of, but he needs to take care of his health first and foremost.

I don't blame people who are owed money to feel dissatisfied, but for some people to come out here and call him some sort of ring leader/stiff is beyond ridiculous. The guy is going through a horrible health crisis and hasn't done anything to not deserve the benefit of the doubt in this situation. If you are owed money, I would continue to just be patient and optimistic. BAS has given none of us any reason to believe he would run away with $30k of forum money.

Maybe down the road, the one adjustment made here is to not let one person alone handle 5-plus figures of money--just in case of emergency situations like this.

If I offended anyone in my post I am sorry if it was offensive not my intention. Reading all this speculation on who bas was addressing first to me is silly.
1) guy has held lots of money over the years never an issue
2) guy has payed it out over the years never an issue
3) was accused of running a gambling ring probably didn’t help his situation
we now live in the cell phone age of instant gratification . To me I call it the fuck you and hooray for me society
just curious if he comes back next week pays everyone off then what do parameters need to be set up in case he dies

Get well BAS, a good man and a stand up guy. I was worried Mike might have joined me in the zipper club, but the strokes make it worse. Heart issues and strokes can both be cured with amazing success in many or most or maybe even the vast majority of time. But it takes time. For me it was maybe 6 to 8 weeks before I had the strength to go more than 4 to 6 hours without taking a nap. During that stretch, you use your time wisely.

BAS had paid everyone promptly and for a very long time. I'm thinking not being able to do so is stressing him out, and we don't need to pile on to his stress.

Relax Mike, hug your family, kiss your grandchildren, and take care of the little stuff when you can. If there's anything I can do to help you as A mediator or middleman, let me know. I'd be happy to help.

I actually would feel much more comfortable about this entire BAS situation reading that you have been in contact with BAS with an update. You're a long time poster also with a great deal of honorable contest money transactions. This whole situation sucks, because BAS has been a great guy for years and always paid, but the lack of communication is reasonable cause for concern.

Regarding any more contests at the RX, can there be a new rule where if 1 person is running a contest, a 2nd person can access the info to the funds if something unexpected happens to the person holding the money? That way a freakish abnormal situation like this could be prevented?

I have never been in a contest but from reading previous posts, BAS seems to have pretty good cred. I am certain that everyone will get paid but it doesnt seem like it will be timely. Let BAS recover first, then i'm certain he will settle everything.

To those who are owed $$, you have every right to be upset. It sux but at least you have a reasonable explanation why you havent been paid. For those who were depending on these monies ($1k is a lot for some and coffee $$ for others), I am truly sorry. Hope you have been able to get by while waiting to get paid.

The guys who hopped in here vouching for BAS like he's the forums own US Mint, shdw01 and MattyMatt, now are coming with excuses to explain their cold feet and change of heart. It's ok to change your mind, but at least admit the actual reasons why. Your cold feet involve the same thoughts we who are owed money are having.

I had a close family member who was a stroke victim a few years ago and I saw first hand what it could do.

Possibly BAS doesnt want to tell anyone close to him (non RX related) where the 30k is and to whom is needs to be distributed to as BAS probably doesnt want to answer why he's holding 30k for something like this?

I'm not owed anything. but there was a few red flags out there , along with the lack of communication , and the sketchy story overall

I see where you are coming from, but I think what BAS did was reasonable.

I think distributing a pretty good size of money to several people takes longer than people realize, especially when it's been documented that BAS has had PP issues in the past. I think he felt the need to address the GB situation, because it somewhat ties into this and he felt the need to assure people that he isn't what GB made him out to be.

I think the problem here was having one guy hold that kind of money for several contests. You need to be prepared to make a payout in case something like this happens.
