Due to my internet provider i can't get all the features to work cause my provider does not have the proper access for smart tv's.I said to the guy then why even buy a smart tv,and he said that its good to have the minor extras, but when internet is asked for and needed i don't have it due to my provider,.....so even myself i could use some advice here

I'm confused by this key.

The apps on a smart tv like Netlix, Amazon, Youtube, and so on, are used just like you would use them on your phone via the internet.

So you do have wifi at your house that you use to connect to your phone and/or pc?

Pretty interesting about the 4 different quality levels for the same size TV, how do you know which level you're buying ? I have noticed a steep price jump for the same size TV by a factor of like 3, wasn't entirely certain why that variance exists. I'm fine with Samsung brand, a bit leery of mongrel brands and not that eager to buy Walmart electronics, but may do so . I'm not looking for the biggest cheapest one available, that's rarely the best choice, but I am price limited to do it soon, like I want to

Samsung makes a 6 series, a 7, an 8, a 9, and QLED
You can tell because the model number ends in 6000 something (6xxx), 7000, 8000, 9000
QLED is pricey
I have a 6, 7, and an 8

My opinion is that the 8 is worth the extra money.
I have a 58" 6 series and a 49" 8 series and the 8 is by far my preferred TV even though smaller. Far superior picture.
However...
if budget is a major issue I would get a samsung 6 before I got an off brand
You definitely want 4k, smart, and high dynamic range (HDR)

Here's a 43" 6 series 4k smart tv w/ HDR for under 300

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...rt-4k-uhd-tv-with-hdr/6268402.p?skuId=6268402

You could shop around something like this and find a better price, or go open box for ~240

I already ordered what I decided on, 40 inches is biggest I want to put in this corner where I want it, there's only 26" between one wall and a window in this corner. It will go right where the old one is, for now. I also ordered a wall mount with an articulating arm thing, only $10 more, so I may go for the other wall, if I think it will work, I'll know when I see it.

My TV is failing on me, picture giving me problems, I thought my eyes were getting worse until I realized it was the TV , not me

I'm not completely ignorant on the subject but I Know there are plenty of people here with far better knowledge about electronics.

What I'm replacing is a 32" Samsung that I bought from Walmart about 8 years ago for around $250 if memory serves, I'm sure it's just 720 pixels , the price was low then

I could replace it with another Walmart cheapie a similar enough 720 pixel set is $89.99 shipped.that's a Sceptre brand item, I could go all the way up to a 50", 1080 pixel set in that brand for $199.99 shipped

I know a lot about how Walmart operates, I used to work for them. They are so big they can get manufacturers to custom make stuff to their specifications, usually the model number starts with wm. You therefore can't compare their prices to any other retailer because nobody else has the exact same item.

What I want help with is some of the terminology now in use, like class HD, FHD, 4k and so on . I know about pixels.

I don't believe I need a smart TV. The things I care about are picture quality, a decent enough sound , as long it doesn't sound like a cheap clock-radio that's good enough and price

I'd like to do this in April my budget is already stressed that month with an unplanned bill coming, I can swing no more than $200 for this or wait until May . I don't want to wait that long, I can't deal with this picture much longer.

I really don't need a hugs TV, perhaps upsize to something in the 37-40 inch range. I am tempted by the Walmart Sceptre 50", 1080 pixel deal, 50" is the max size I'd do. I am reluctant to buy electronics there, not my first choice. Some people will buy stuff like this anywhere.Occasionally the grocery store I frequently visit offers a big screen TV like a 50 or 55 inch at a low price and they have a pallet of them on display. I think to myself who buys their TV at ShopRite ? But somebody does.

Another issue is the plethora of brands to choose from, there are all kinds of brandnames I never heard of offered

It is a daunting task to decide on the right set for you, so a bit of research can't hurt, it's hardly a major purchase these days when electronics are so inexpensive.

Any suggestions appreciated

May only a month away, hold out for the $250 TV.

I'm not holding out for a month, present Samsung giving a doubled image, can't even look at the screen directly for very long without getting a headache.

New arriving FedEx today. $170 delivered with a wall mounting bracket also. So no more deciding to be done.

Thanks for opinions , men.
