Store, just call a store in California, gives you 3 more hours.
The ad for this particular model ends today, may or not be repeated, that's Ok even if I miss it, it tells me I can get a 50" smart TV for a mere $229 delivered, f

Reviews are very positive, the one thing people bitch about is the remote control. Very highly rated for picture and sound quality. I'll definitely buy this model if I can get it at that price about 10 days from now

Do you live near a best buy? Just wondering if you planned on in store purchase or online. If online I believe you would need some sort of credit card or ****** to make the purchase, if so since it's so late in the month wouldn't that payment be due sometime next month?

Doug if you decide to, I think you will be happy with the larger screen. Going from 32 to 50" is a big difference. I know you don't need a smart tv, but it seems most are made that way now. The think the most important thing is to make sure you get the 1080p. If you purchase at best buy and the tv goes on sale cheaper within 30 days, show them your receipt and they will pay you back the difference.

Agree

Doug go with a bigger screen

You said you don't have wifi Doug.

How do you get online?

Also sorry if missed it but how much are you looking to spend max?
Like Pete said looking to keep it around $200. I use my phone for internet access, I get 6 gigs of data for $30, only good for 30 days that's just enough, use wifi whenever possible, occasionally a real computer at the library, phone suffices for net access for now

I'm sold on this model at that price but may have to choose something else BB bumped it $100 this week to $329, more than I'm willing to pay, but it's actually next week when I'm buying it, price might return to $229 then ?

Where ever it is and whatever is available next Tuesday/ Wednesday will determine which brand/model I ultimately select, this one would however be perfect.
Thanks to Pete and all others that offered advice in this area that is not my forte.

It was not in vain even if I don't get this exact model. It has at least gotten me to narrow it down to certain parameters...

Definitely
upsize from 32" and up to 50" is doable

May as well make it a smart TV
Can do this with a known brand like Samsung, Sharp,RCA or whatever instead of a mongrel brand that is unknown, so this at least gets me on target

But the Smart version won't do you any good within wifi.

Also Doug do you actually shop your local Walmart?

Like if you found one you liked could you pick it up there?

I'm there about once a week, it's one of the smallest Walmart stores in the country, not a super Walmart. I know how they operate very well as a former employee. There are literally millions of items on their website that are not in the store especially a tiny store like Old Saybrook, CT. Most can be shipped to store for free pickup, some will only be shipped to you, store store keeper items are not really the best choice and WM isn't my first choice for electronics, they get special models just for them with model numbers starting wm, they aren't out of the question totally but not my automatic first choice either. I don't own a car , I get there by bus, I could still physically buy it in store if needed and call my buddy Nick with his illegal $1 a mile taxi for a lift with something too large for the bus, that's like $8 plus I always tip him, more like $20 with the legal company. He has a much better vehicle too, a new Chevy Equinox, Essex taxi runs ancient junker Malibu's that are not maintained, bad brakes, all kinds of warning lights on the dashboard warning the driver, etc. The owner of that chickenshit company is so cheap he doesn't even buy new vehicles he buys them used and does nothing for upkeep, terrible place to work for and not a small company either, just cheap !

Well, I've made my decision, going to order it Tuesday and from Walmart for a few reasons. They are excellent about accepting returned items if there is something defective/ damaged as long as you have the paperwork for it. Best buy has a reputation of being difficult in that area, and forget about it if you bought an open box item. Amazon would also be a hassle for returns if needed.

I've spent many hours researching TV's almost like I was buying a new car instead of a TV for a couple of hundred bucks.

I'm definitely getting 1080 pixels, you have to look hard to even find a 720, I was going to go class 4k ( 2160 p) , but my research tells the human eye can't really tell the difference between 1080 and 2160 pixels, esp. on a set that isn't humoungous.

I was going to get a smart TV but read some pretty convincing reasons not to. The seem to be a prone to a lot of glitchy characteristics, and tons of complaints about the remotes no matter what brand you select. So, I intentionally only want a dumb TV.

Size is another issue, was looking to go 50", but that's just too big for the only space that works for as to placement, so a 40", 1080p, dumb TV in a known brand with good reviews.
Answer is a Sharp from WM free 2 day shipping $149.95, I could spend more on it, got my tax refund, but that is perfect, a decent upgrade from an old 32", 720p set that was actually big enough already, cost is next to nothing ( can't lose much,eh)I read like 500 reviews on this model . Mostly very positive, picture quality, the remote, ease of use, adequate audio, all rated well

The only thing that bugs me a bit is Sharp is actually made by a company called by Highsense, but that's to be expected , my 1st X-WIFE'S VW is made in Mexico not Germany, stuff like that doesn't stop me.

Thanks to all that gave me their thoughts on the subject

Even if you get a better Brand, you're still going to find it cheaper at Walmart.

UHD 4k

Make sure it's Smart.

I would pass on Spectre and TCL brands, but Vizio is solid.

Or spend a little more and go Samsung.

Prices are as reasonable as ever.

Due to my internet provider i can't get all the features to work cause my provider does not have the proper access for smart tv's.I said to the guy then why even buy a smart tv,and he said that its good to have the minor extras, but when internet is asked for and needed i don't have it due to my provider,.....so even myself i could use some advice here
